Your poem and author's notes eats at the emotions. Putin is truly evil and I only wish evil for him. My religion teaches to forgive those who trespass against us, but Putin crosses the line. No forgiveness for that monster.

Jaded, thank you fr the validation.

Yes, quite. A face on this topic is always going to be harsh, whatever the image, but this brings an orderly look that lends itself to tragedy of normality, as what we know.
I don't think I can add much more, except, good luck in the competition.
My best wishes.

This is an excellent entry for the 25 syllable writing prompt. The use of
grey monochomatic sets a sombre stage, and the photograph you have chosen paints a picture of a determined, industrious people. The line-end rhymes provide an impression of a staccato repeating machine gun.

Great job with your well metered and rhymed tercet that uses exactly 25 syllables! You also show us the strength of the Ukrainian people against the madman's attack. Best wishes in the contest!

I like your poem, and the syllable count is perfect. I think most of us share the sentiments. I wish you the best of luck in the contest. I hope you have a great week. Hugs and blessings.

For the Ukraine to be in such a position, in their own backyard, Russia is truly an invader with the lowest standards of humanity. And I can only hope that they follow your words of courage and strength. The rest of the world cannot and should not stand by and let this atrocity occur. Best wishes.

Victor, I do agree absolutely, bullies don't stop once they choice a victum ...there will be others for certain.

We?ve always had bullies but seldom to this degree. All we can do is hope for a reasonable resolution.

We were in Ukraine residing on holiday in Sebastopol in 2005, visited Yalta where the war time leaders met, Stalin, Churchill and Roosevelt, beautiful country, then on through Russia, culminating in St. Petersburg, beautifully written entry in this contest, well done, blessings Roy

Very nice summary of the battle for Ukraine's freedom and sovereignty. You selected a most appropriate photo to highlight the crisis.
Like your rhyme scheme.
P.S. Consider increasing your text size. IMHO it will enhance your presentation value to FanStory reviewers.

This is a short piece, but nevertheless extremely poignant. It expresses the hopes of everyone around the world who is appalled by Putin's actions against a peaceful neighbour. I believe the Ukranian people are strong in their resolve, and I also believe Russians will soon turn against the actions of their despot leader.
