Lisa,
This poem has good use or metaphor and personification to describe the effect of a snowstrom on nature. It is a persfect mix of words and artwork.
It also reminds us there is beauty in all seasons and that the beauty is a gift from god.
Congrats on placing second in the contest.
Keep writnig and stay healthy
Happy Easter.
Joan

This is a very beautiful and well written 5-7-5 poem you have penned for the contest. You used great descriptive words and great imagery from the art work you chose. It all goes together very well. Best wishes in the contest. Teri

Well, girl, every once in a while, you just knock my socks off. This is breathtaking and extremely well written. Although, I HATE winter, (hence, my abode in Florida) I was captured and held captive by this vision of yours. Word play aside (brilliant), your message here is peaceful and gorgeous. A welcomed moment of beauty and calm. Well done!

Hey there! Thanks for popping up out of the blue to bestow a shiny 6. Glad you liked this one.
We're about to move into winter but it never gets this snowy in my city so I had to use my imagination.
    How ya doin'?

Very beautiful poem! And photo as well. Is this near you? I particularly enjoyed the play on words with "bough" and "bow". Best wishes for the contest.

Thank you. No, it's not wintry enough yet here, and we don't get many snowfalls in the city and immediate surrounds... maybe three times each winter.

I read this poem then did a double take as your clever word play registered.
The imagery is familiar to me as I look back on winter from this greening spring day. But the idea of trees making obeisance to the gods of winter provides a fresh twist.

Good luck in the contest

Stay safe and blessed

Julia

I don't see snow-laden branches very often but my thoughts have been turning to winter lately with the shortening days and the chill in the air here.
I often humble myself to nature, so the thought of nature humbling herself to God occurred to me.

A very wonderful and beautiful entry into the 5-7-5 contest. I have a honeysuckle bush that "boughs down with grace." after every snowstorm and it is for a short time creates a stunning snow-covered archway to walk under.
A very clever pun in using "bough."
Good luck in the contest.
Best wishes,
Mary

I bet you don't see scenes like this in New Zealand? I saw these scenes when I holidayed in France and Switzerland for a few weeks and it is really pretty, I love your words here, heavy boughs weighed down like this sort of slows down time, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

I envied you when you were coming into Spring when in England we were entering Autumn and now the tables have turned x x x

I wonder how many reviewers will take you to task for 'bough down', lol. It certainly points up the pun and I see no harm in so doing. The nearest I came to deep snow this winter was in Northern California on my holiday there. There was plenty of the stuff there while the southern half was having a heat wave. A neat seasonal 5-7-5 for the contest.

Oh yes, they'll no doubt think I haven't checked my spelling.
I hope you enjoyed California - I visited a few years ago and had a marvellous time. How many FanStorians did you get to spend time with?
