Comment from Frank Malley
"One's Concept of Dreams" considers the experience of dreaming from the perception of its value to the dreamer. Those of us who dream will probably have their own remembered dreams brought back to them. Will we agree with the author's perceptions? Dreams have long been considered as messages, as warnings, as inspirations, and as trivial. I think they probably do function in these ways, but I don't give dream analysis the weight that this author does.
The poem flows well, but sometimes its rhymes are chosen because a rhyme is needed, and not because a rhyme is by its sound and sense the best word. We need to honor the hints our minds give us regarding life, and allow our poetry to be free of the restrictions imposed by a theme we've endorsed.

an interesting concept is in how very beautifully you painted in the canvas of your words, dreams i believe learn us so much about the mystery sleeping inside each of us, your pen captured this nicely

I value our words and thoughts.

I don't think anyone really knows where dreams come from. But some to lead you to decisions.
I like the artwork you chose to illustrate your poem.
In the second line in the second stanza, I think you are missing the word 'they' after are.
Good luck in the contest.

Dreams are so complex, and none really understands fully why we dream or how our brains thread images together. Sometimes God does intervene to speak to us and instruct or lead us by dreams, so we need to be discerning to hear His voice.
Well written. Best wishes for your entry.

Thank you.

It is hard to make a poem with such precise guidelines--and such difficult lines--sound natural. Nevertheless you have made a great effort and the rhyming is quite affective. Well done, Giddy

This poem gives a lot to think about. Just what are the source of dreams? Are they from our subconscious acting out inner worries and fantasies, or are they from a power more on high? Both ideas are touched upon here with interesting imagery.

Okay, so I had to pull up the form because I'm always forgetting the "recipe." The closest I could find was "Ottava rima" form... so I'm gont out on a limb and assuming that's what you are referring to as an "Octiva."
"Ottava rima poems are poems of Italian origin, with eight iambic lines per stanza, and a rhyme scheme of ABABABCC."
This is the form you've presented here, and you've done it perfectly. Not an easy task!
As to theme! This was a really interesting contest... I love your take on dreams, the ethereal quality and the spiritual, woven together with grace.
I thoroughly enjoyed this poem.

You have a smooth flow of words and lines that give your poem a dream like feel to it. I like the mention of wolves as a positive image. I also like how you describe dreams as guidance for our daily lives. Excellent poetic form here.

This is a most imaginative post, opening a clever thought of where dreams wander off to. Also perhaps the thought of a wandering soul, that hopefully comes back home to roost. Beautifully written with a monorhyme octain, and an abababcc,an excellent post, blessings Roy

Nicely written and an interesting take on dreams and their purpose. I used to read quite a bit about dreams since mine were so detailed and intense - I even had a psychologist try to help me figure them out. Now I rarely remember one, which I'm okay with.
Good luck with your contest entry.

We all dream that we do not remember them upon awakening is of little importance. It is more come than not for people to not be able to grasp these nighttime messages/messengers but they do happen.
