JLR,
Yes, our body is truly our best friend, though rarely treated in the way a best friend should be. Sometimes, it takes a lifetime for this realization to sink in. The body is a miracle, the magnitude of which is beyond words to express or explain. The body knows how to heal when we give it the grace to do so. It is always in healing mode, even with every injury and insult it sustains.
Keep up the cartwheels - forever.

Yes, we shall do cartwheels evermore! :)

A fine Ronsardian Ode. Yes the body takes the brunt of youthful attitudes and activities, only to regret it later. On the other side, you'll get a new body anyway, an improved version! Well done.
Best wishes,
Wendy

I like the ode to your former self, quite clever!! Makes me appreciate my body now just a little bit more!! Because no one can escape age, unfortunately, but through poetry we can make whatever object we wish to be immortal. Well done.

All my six stars are gone or I would give you one. They have disappeared very quickly this week; there must be a lot of creative juices flowing out there. This was a new rhyme scheme, and I really liked the sound of the second and seventh lines. Best wishes.

Very insightful and thought provoking. Also, good use of the Ronsardian Ode, which I had never heard of until today. I think a lot of us treated our bodies like indestructible super beings and are suffering a lot for it in our adult years. Thanks for sharing! Great work.

This Ronsadian ode, My Body My Friend, has the proper formatting and takes a shot at giving a pep talk to oneself after a life lived as if not knowing that getting old was hard.

Potlatch entry. Good luck. You accepted the challenge and did well enough to qualify for a vote or three. May the force be with you, and that isn't the CEC but your fellow competitors.

I'm imagining you cartwheeling through the pearly gates JLR. A great final image in your Ronsardian Ode. You sound like my father-in-law, a larrikan in your youth.
Cheers

JLR,
This is a well done Ronsardian ode for the potlatch. It seems to be an ode from a cowboy to his horse according to the artwork.
It seems you posted this in the wrong week. This ode posted as an entry for the puente.
Keep writing and stay healthy

Hi Joan, gee whiz, I really messed that up :)

I have done it before when I was posting responses to two different potlatches.
