My paternal grandpa from Italy was an excellent fisherman. He almost always caught the limit, fished alone in the woods until he was 87, and every time, he made steak of the fish. Lol

Nice response to the prompt. It reads like an old fishing tale told around a campfire. A great twist at the end that made me smile. The big one still lives on in the lake and in myth. Well done.

Very fun read, but the title and subtitle spoiled it for me a little bit by giving away your fantastic ending. It's such a perfect flash-fiction premise; but hold onto the surprise until the very last sentence.
