I love to read stories from the Bible. Congratulations on getting first place with this great writing. Can you imagine how Elias felt that he could see? Thanks for God's or Jesus's miracles.

This story, The Power of One, centers on Jesus' healing and, especially, this idea of helping the blind to see. It is as simple as that though: I was blind but now I see. Ain't it the truth.

Thanks Bill! A thoughtful review - and yes, it is as simple as that. It's the truth and a valuable one.

Congratulations on winning the Supernatural-fiction contest. This story was imaginative and clever. It began in a modern way leading the reader to expect the blind boy to have supernatural powers. When I realized you used Biblical events to motivate your story, I enjoyed it even more. Well done.

Not exactly what I expected, but as I read I did recognize the re-telling of a Biblical story. I liked that you gave it a modern twist and added characters, but the story still seemed to lack depth. I think it might have helped to add some reactions from the people who actually witnessed the healing instead of focusing so much on the jealous religious leaders. Only so much you can do in 500 words.

Thank you for reviewing thoughtfully. The 500 word limit prevented further development, and the reaction of the religious leaders was integral to the story, so that had to be prioritised. Maybe next time ....

I like that you've told this from the perspective of a normal person rather than the religious figure himself. It's an interesting perspective and shows how such stories might be viewed by the general public. Very well written, as always :-).

A very nice lead in to the Biblical event. Some of the greatest stories are in the Bible. It has been awhile since I have picked up the Good Book. I'll do better.

Thank you so much for reviewing. I always appreciate it. I think we feel too familiar with the Biblical events sometimes and take them for granted, but in those times such things were life-transforming, as was His teaching.

You clever writer you. I loved the way you entwined the present with the past. Now, go ahead and use Yahweh's miracles for the present day? I know His love and healing is working amongst us in the present. "Be still and know that I am God." Blessings my friend, you lifted my spirits. K XX

Thanks so much for your lovely review!
I just might do exactly that - because I did hear of something quite miraculous the other day!
By the way I wrote a verse about you for Debi Marquette's first FanStory guessing contest. It's in the poem called "Could this be you?" if you want to see it just for fun. Don't bother reviewing, it's expired. The idea was to describe other writers, and reviewers had to guess who they were.
Blessings to you and your Benny too. Sunny has just written another story.

I loved your story and there is much hypocrisy among religions men who are vying for power and status within the church and want to gain respect of the elders. No one wants any one man to shine above another and your message here is loud and clear, even though this is a fictional story, there is faith and hope, love and kindness here and we should promote it at all costs, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Thank you very much Dolly. I appreciate your thoughtful review - you are right, such jealousy and hypocrisy remains to this day, even in churches, to our shame. We need to see what God is doing in our midst, and be prepared to be humble and teachable.

Such an intriguing way to integrate the essence of the miracle from John 9...
Telling if from the perspective of a sister pulled me right in.
How many miracles today that are discounted due to pride, ignorance, jealousy???
Many, I believe!

Thank you Karenina! Such a lovely review.
I heard recently of a lady we were praying for, about a large cancerous tumour which needed to be removed, and she was high risk. We prayed for peace for her, and skill for the surgeons. She went in for further tests and images the day before her surgery - and the tumour was gone! The specialists were amazed, and there was no 'natural' explanation. Many thanks again.

Love that!
I've seen some inexplicable cures in my years as an RN.
God knows!
