I guess Mr. Griffin is a bad boy. I wonder what he is after if he's not after Alexander. I guess we will find out. A person wants to go to NYC once in their life. I guess you took the reader there in this chapter.

Thank you for the kind review. Yes, we will discover more about Griffin's desire. The next chapter continues in NYC.

This is an excellent addition to your story. There is one tiny error in section 11, "you needed to attend (either I was or we will). I look forward to the next section.

I will make that correction. Thank you for the catch.

Wonderful post. No SPAGs of any kind, and I looked, believe me. I always like reading the Cord and Ali saga because, for one reason you give such a nice recap of the previous chapter right up front. There are so many continuing stories on FS that they sometimes get jumbled together, at least in my old feeble mind anyway. Your opening re-cap always gets me started on the right track.

I came in on this story considerably late but with such good story telling I can get the gist of the tale. I like seeing some progress in Cord's and Ali's relationship also. I'm hoping it turns into something equally satisfying for both of them.

I like how Cord, like a gentleman taking care of his woman, takes Ali by the elbow to walk her out. It shows class and respect. Something sorely lacking in life and even in stories today.

Very nicely done Barb, One of the six-stars I am most tickled to award.

Your review is sweet. Thank you for the kind review. Being a gentleman seems to be lost with our society. Of course, it seems many women don't want it anymore. I happen to still like men opening doors for me. I guess I'm one of the few dinosaurs. I was a Daddy's girl and totally enjoyed being his little princess. LOL

I insist on treating my wife with grace and respect. Old fashioned or not, there really are two sexes and there are two different roles to play. I am man, she is woman and I try to never let her forget that.

Te fact that Cordero and Alexandra are spending their night under the same roof is a proof to their growing trust in themselves and each other. The story is moving well.I am waitng for the villain to creep out....

This was a lovely chapter, allowing us to see our couple in a different kind of social situation. I like polite touches, like Cord double-checking his plan to stay with her is comfortable. I very much enjoyed the read.

Mike

This is an observation (not a criticism) - in previous chapters and again here, Cord will cup Alexandra's elbow and lead her. You obviously don't think of or mean it this way, but it feels quite aggressive to me, like a controlling move. Maybe it's just a cultural language thing, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Spag notes:

'After the ride up and the door opened' - either needs to be 'they rode' or 'door opening'

Hmm, I will rethink the cup the elbow, it's meant simply he held it. Maybe I need to say that. I didn't see it as aggressive. I made the correction. Thank you for the assistance. I appreciate it.

I almost didn't say anything, but I thought other might read it the way I had.

Love how this is moving along, Barbara. I'm more than ready for Alexandra and Cordero to get the real romance started. But also like the way you make us wait. Great job.

I did not find any proofing errors so don't worry about that. This is a very good chapter and ends with the same suspicion that I have begun to suspect. What does Alan really want? He seems to be as dangerous as Pat Rogers.

It will take a while, but we will find out what Alan really wants and it's not Ali. Thank you for the kind review

I think we have set the stage for a confrontation. Alan is about to run into Cord's protective side. You did a great job as usual, and I eagerly await the next installment. Have a wonderful evening. Shirley

You always do a great job with the dialogue; the personalities and characteristics and morals of the characters always come through in their own words and it all comes across very realistically. I liked the descriptions of New York from Rockefeller. I have been there a few times and what's great about it is that you are smack in the middle of the city there. Cord seems like he's being swept off his feet by Ali here. estory

Barb,

Nope. Not for me, anyway. Now that I actually have a minute to sit and read something longer than a sonnet, it's good to be reading you again.
Feels like a comfy chair. *smile* Hope you take that the way it was meant.

I sure do like the men and women in your stories. And I love the fact that there's still a call for the kind of stories some of us choose to write. Where the guy is a strong man who can be trusted and in charge. Where the woman might ALSO be strong but she loves and wants to have a man by her side. Where families have morals and goals and boundaries and the parents work hard to achieve all that.

I guess I better hurry up and get that one of my novels finished - 'Ama' - it has the stereotypical 50's style man/woman romance, I guess - Western-style. If I don't hurry and get it complete and pubbed somehow, there will be no market at ALL for it. --sigh--

*wink*

Thanks - I enjoyed this a bunch!!
