You leave the image of the scene open for the reader to project their experiences. This is a strong sensory poem. Just about every sense is being affected or impacted. Well done.

K thanks so much, I am aware that our polar opposite seasons are counterpoints in many of these posts.

This is a lovely and well-executed entry for your club. I love the picture. It makes me homesick for my childhood years. I enjoyed reading your writing and hope to read more soon.

loved this line
December's full moon glows brightly on the snow
casting long shadows of us; and the two deer
pay close attention to us and our cargo
treading along the snow laden trail, so clear.

This is a lovely story interpretation of this artwork for the picture this club, JLR. I could almost smell Ma's apple strudel. Your words created a very visual scene. Lovely read, cheers

This a wonderful Christmas poem and I want some apple strudel, sounds so inviting and delicious. Your words create a vivid scene, one that brings forth a feeling happiness as the tree is brought home and the deer look on. Excellent poetic form and use of words.

I enjoy your rhyming poem for this club. It's about warm home life, hearty meals and pie. It's also about the joy of getting a Christmas tree and expecting the incoming celebration. The chimney is working and Santa is coming.
Well done.

Hi there, this is a lovely contribution to the 'picture this' club. I would say that the picture was just the inspiration to your lovely poem. It was a joy to read. Ulla:)))

You covered everything in the picture in your well-rhymed quatrains. And you even ended with a heart of gratefulness so rare these days. I wonder how many kids today would be grateful just for a tree and apple strudel.
Hope you and yours will be especially blessed this Christmas, Jim!

This is a beautifully written poem. Describing the given scene quite nicely.
A tug of excitement grasps my bounding heart
as Pa leads us to our home, well lit, and warm.
I drag the fresh cut Yule tree, doing my part
under the clear sky there will be no snowstorm. Very well done ð???
