I like the humour here! There is nowhere to hide at Christmas. Writing is not a festive occupation and family reunions come first. Well done on making necessity the mother of invention!

I see you went with the classic fourth wall break, where you couldn't think of anything for the contest. That a good choice, I've seen some entries that did that thing, do okay in most contests.
