When one pest is removed ,there comes another one .I hope Rogers won't hurt Ali .He seems to be jealous of Cord.
Nice dialogue between the ladies .And I am sure there is bound to have some action soon.

Thank you for the kind review. Yes, Rogers wanted a relationship with Ali, but that idea has passed.

Hi Barbara,
I thought this was a well placed chapter. To me it took on two perspectives;
1) a lunch between girls/ girlfriends. And of course all the others saucing at Cordero either honestly or teasingly.
2) out of the blue, the antagonist comes in to confront Alexandra.
I thought this was well placed setting up what's to come.
Cheers. John

Hi Barbara, as always, I liked this chapter very much, just as I like the whole story.
So the girls are out having some fun and in comes this creep. It's always like that, isn't it? Ulla xx

Rogers doesn't seem to have common sense. At least he doesn't use it.
This was a good chapter, but it left me confused on one point:
"What does Cord think about your plans?" asked Caridad. [Have I missed something? Did Cord propose to her? She's talking like someone who's been proposed to.]
I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

When she described her thoughts on a perfect marriage. Her answer, 'We've never talked about it.'
No Cord has not proposed. Thank you for the kind review.

I am out of sixes but you deserve one. I doubt the wedding will be good as a simple wedding. Sometimes the cost of a fancy wedding is more than bargained for.

Thank you for the kind review. I agree. A simple wedding is best.

The first part of this chapter seemed like the predictable hob nob between girls fantasizing about their idealized guys and idealized weddings. Then wammo, you hit us with that really strong confrontational scene between Rogers and Alex out of nowhere. That part I liked. The dialogue was sharp, the tension level shot up and you left us in great suspense and uncertainty where this is going. Seems Rogers is not done yet, and we'll have to see how Alex gets out of this. My guess is Cord will ride to the rescue once again, but the details will be fun to watch unfold. As always lots of realistic dialogue, polish on top, and great execution. estory

This is a very short post, but it's still a good one when we get to see a bad guy escorted from the premises. LOL. And as you know already, I'll be be ready and waiting for the next chapter on Wednesday. Thanks for sharing.

The plot thickens!! Now you have cast a little speck of doubt about this baby and we need to know!! I love a bit of suspense that keeps us guessing. The character "Caridad" threw me a bit. Is she one of the friends? I struggle to keep up with lots of characters. Maybe a sentence at the beginning of the chapter that describes who is meeting for lunch as a refresher for those like me who struggle remembering names! - Well done Barbara.

One of the hallmarks of exceptional writing is being able to enter the prose at any point and still become engage and invested in the narrative. This being the only portion of this story that I have read, you both captured and held my attention as well as left me wondering what's next. Well done!

You did warn that things was going to get worse before it got better so I was a little on edge about who would get hurt next. Glad that Cord and the sheriff were right there.
I liked that Ali wanted to keep everything very personal and intimate. So many weddings today are too much of a big, showy affair.
