It all looks fine to me although I'm reading an individual chapter and not the book.
The setting, characters, grammar, punctuation and 'flow' of the chapter are
great.

I'm jumping in on this one at chapter 29. The scene with Jim and Cordero leaving in the pickup and the gravel scattering against Alexandra's window adds a sense of finality and separation. I missed the kiss and everything. I wanted him to ask her to stay.I need to go back and read the other chapters.

I'm jumping in on this one at chapter 29. The scene with Jim and Cordero leaving in the pickup and the gravel scattering against Alexandra's window adds a sense of finality and separation. I missed the kiss and everything. I wanted him to ask her to stay.I need to go back and read the other chapters.

I really liked the dialog today, Barbara. This was very strong writing. Misunderstandings abound as both Cord and Ali are having trouble figuring each other out. This has been a great read, and I'm looking forward to the final chapter. Jim

Well written.
I understand putting tension, conflict, and suspense into a story, but Ali deviated from her developed character. Maybe it's the way humans do (fickle), but Ali built a box and put Cord into it. It would be heart-breaking, but I would not return to her. She refused his picnic romance and then announced she had no reason to to be with him. Done.
