Well done on your short piece. Very descriptive. I could feel the cold seeping in and the rain splashing against his skin. What an awful situation to find oneself in. I'm glad that most towns offer services to the homeless. The whole issue of homelessness is so complex. Somehow, there has to be a balance between people's freedoms to live as they want to and the need to maintain some order in the towns in which they live. No easy answers. Thanks for sharing this.

A couple years back there had expanded a huge tent city of homeland downtown, and the city and its mayor were doing everything they could to keep these people out of sight. I was taking sandwiches, toothbrushes and paste, among other things about three times a week. I would spend three or four hours a night with my new friends. Of course, the city finally busted things up and disbursed the people to other cities. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for sharing this post with us. I enjoyed reading. We have a few homeless individuals in the town I reside in. This one particular man, when people have reached out to him, he's declined help. I have often wondered his story. Of course, he's not eager to share it. I think he's a retired veteran.

Out of sixes. Too bad. I am really liking these flash fiction pieces you are posting. I like very concise writing when it is chock-full of emotion and drizzled with just enough detail to give a full scene. This made me think of a commercial for the red cross. I could further imagine the outreach worker wrapping a wool blanket around him. These are wonderful. Gretchen

Times are tough we all have it rough some more so than others I am afraid. Prices keep going up there is no way we can live on what we get.aren't s are out of sight, groceries, gad ,light,water and sewerThe government is no help!

Of all the lines, it's like I was able to actually feel this,
His gnarled and sore fingers tugged his tattered coat closer to his torso.
This would have done well in a contest.

No, I assumed the picture wasn't you. I enjoyed this flash fiction piece yet thought it was a little too contrived. It led to the obvious conclusion in my estimation anyway. So, I gave you a fiver instead of a sixer. But I thought it was entertaining even though It could have been more developed.
