This reminds me of myself when I tell someone everything hurts but the end of my nose. We have to laugh at ourselves. I do it before someone else does. hahaha.

This is very funny. Heck, the picture alone is worth 12 stars. Did the picture initiate the post or have you had an `earlobe` fetish for some time? Clever.

    Oh, you're onto me!

Actually I wrote it first then found this great picture. I think it was an obituary picture for this guy.

Hey thanks for the 6 stars, K. Much appreciated!

I enjoyed this poem and I believe I've penned the perfect final line. I think it should read,
'And yes, you are right, it only hurts when I pee.'
Apologies if this offends.

I intended it to be the earlobe where he got stung, but I like your version better!

Thank you for making me laugh with your delight poem.
The refrain in line four of each stanza is a nice touch that gives just the needed rhythm to emphasize your point.
Of all the things going wrong, at least the ears were in good shape--until that obnoxious bee got involved.
This was a fun read. Thank you for sharing.

I liked your poem. It was funny and the rhyming didn't seem forced. But what I really like is when someone can make fun of themselves, don't take themselves too seriously. I've heard some comedians who love to make fun of other people but the best comedians make fun of themselves.

Thank you so much, Alan. I like that kind of humor too. Rodney Dangerfield was a master of that.

LOL, Jim, this is a wonderful bit of humor and very well written. I had two thoughts as I read your poem and looked at the picture, as well as your picture.

First, I liked how you always looked on the sunny side--until the bee came along.

Second, you might look good with a couple of diamond studs...might even ward off a bee. Good job. Terry.

I could not help but laugh. With all your other pains you could consider this as a blessing in disguise. Nothing like a distractor to make you forget your other ailments.

A fun read Jim. Keep the humour flowing. Jacqueline

Thank you, Jacqueline. That's very true. When one particular pain asserts itself, it does tend to draw the attention from the others. Good way to look at it!

Damn. Years ago I was mowing my back lawn, and I wanted to clear some growth near our fence in the back of the yard. I unknowingly mowed over a bees nest.... I never ran do fast. Still got stung three times. It burned like hell, so I can imagine the pain your earlobes felt.

Anyway... good, fun poem to read. Excellent rhyming.
John

Thanks, John. I ended up having to be put on prednisone the time I got stung in the ear. They sure do burn!

This is a fun poem and I really enjoyed the humor here. It wouldn't be much fun to get stung anywhere but especially on the earlobe. Once when I was a young child, my mom got stung by several wasp in the face and especially her lips. I wouldn't go near her because she looked like a monster.

That I can understand. Sometimes drug reactions can do the same thing. I once took a drug that made my face swell, especially my upper lip area. My wife told me I looked like Homer Simpson!
