That sounds like an awesome (and awesomely expendive) day. I used to take my son to see the Richmond Braves. Not quite the same but still fun. I enjoyed reading this and I'm glad you got to go for your birthday. Thank you for posting. Gretchen

I am glad you enjoyed your birthday gift. Fenway, too is adding an expanded menu to attract a different crowd from the old hot dogs and beer days. On the news, opening day was more about the expanded menu than the players. (although the way they are losing, perhaps the menu will be the top story all season.)
I enjoyed your day at the stadium/
Best wishes,
Mary

I want to go to a Yankee-Red Sox game at Fenway before I die. Or maybe that?s where I?ll die rooting for the Yankees!
Thank you, Mary.

We no longer tar and feather Yankees fans, and burning at the stake came well before baseball. We now just look at Yankees fans with pity and sadness much as you would a sick puppy.

Your family knows you well to give you such an appropriate birthday gift. I am not a sports fan but the food choices sound intriguing. It looks like you lucked out weather-wise and had a very enjoyable time.

Thank you for taking me out to the ball game even though I'm not a baseball fan. With your superb descriptions, I enjoyed every moment, especially the vast array of food on the menu. Your team didn't win, but the sky remained clear, at least during the game. An enjoyable story.

Too bad the Yankees lost, but this was still a thoroughly enjoyable story, John. Regardless of the loss, it sounds like your family had a terrific time at the game. The food alone would have made it a worthwhile day! This was very well-written and made me feel like I was right there with you. Jim

Absolutely. I tried making it more about the experience than the game/score.
You get it.
Thanks, Jim.

I"m glad the rain held off for you. It sounds like the food was awesome and you enjoyed the memorabilia in the stadium. You mention the introduction of the players. The game itself must have be anti-climatic as you only mentioned lt in your notes that the Yankees lost. The ride home with all those tornados around must have be exciting if not scary. You didn't mention who the Yankees were playing. I enjoyed the story. I've only seen the stadium from the outside.

Wow, thanks for taking us along on your baseball experience. I thought you'd share what happened at the game but instead we got a smorgasbord of food. You slipped into another language when you listed all the foods!

Your love of the Yankees comes through loud and clear. Tornados in New Jersey, used to never happen. Your description of the food was over the top. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Thank you for sharing this trip with us. I am a more traditionalist when it comes to food at the ballpark. Some of the oldies you mentioned I remember watching when I was younger. I'm still praying for the areas the tornados hit.
