We used to bring sandwiches into the games many years ago? no longer.

I am glad you enjoyed your birthday gift. Fenway, too is adding an expanded menu to attract a different crowd from the old hot dogs and beer days. On the news, opening day was more about the expanded menu than the players. (although the way they are losing, perhaps the menu will be the top story all season.)

We no longer tar and feather Yankees fans, and burning at the stake came well before baseball. We now just look at Yankees fans with pity and sadness much as you would a sick puppy.
