I wish you the best in writing the 30 Palms in 30 days. This was a nice poem and about a very different type of bird. I do hope that you have a wonderful Easter and that everything is looking up towards Spring. Patricia.

I have never heard of cow birds before and I did a lot of research on birds when I wrote a poetry book about them, so I learned something today Debra, I enjoyed your well rhymed post and I enjoyed those feminine endings too, love Dolly x

Comment from Gloria ....
Tell Katie I love the artwork. Some words are just like that, and I share your interest in the word cowbird, as I too imagine a cow with wings, and perhaps a few moos too.
But, alas a bird is a bird is a bird.
Great job with this fine poem. I thoroughly enjoyed it. :))

Hi Kerry :)
Thank you so much for your feedback.
I'm not so much 'doing' poetry month, as 'trying to' do! Thanks for your encouragement ;)

-Great artwork and nice presentation, Debra. Kudos to Katie!!
-I am familiar with the cowbird.
-You wrote a clever poem with effective imagery and rhyme.
-I like your line about not being what you expected.
-A good closing couplet.
-When we have a cowbird here in NJ, they usually take a smaller songbird's nest, and the little songbird will raise the large cowbird as its own. Luckily, we don't get these birds too often.

Debra, your daughter is really talented. Good for her!
This is a cute poem.
I got into the contest late, too, and somehow didn't do it exactly right. Haven't seen any prompts, and don't lnow where the list of participants is, so have just been doing my own thing. Now that I know you're in it, will look forward to yours.

Hooray! You're joining in! And I loved the artwork by Katie! Thanks for the fun poem about the "cowbird" which really is a bird who likes sitting and eating off of cattle. Lol.

This poem, Cowbird, is a fun one that definitely works well with Katie's artwork. I guess we should expect a cowbird would be more bird than anything else.

LOL! This made me laugh. Anyway, I think I prefer the fantasy animal rather than the poor real bird, but don't tell him. I don't want to hurt his feelings.
Thanks for sharing this cool poem and the pictures.
Looking forward to the rest of your creations for NaPoWriMo.
