I have never heard of cow birds before and I did a lot of research on birds when I wrote a poetry book about them, so I learned something today Debra, I enjoyed your well rhymed post and I enjoyed those feminine endings too, love Dolly x

Tell Katie I love the artwork. Some words are just like that, and I share your interest in the word cowbird, as I too imagine a cow with wings, and perhaps a few moos too.

-I am familiar with the cowbird.
-You wrote a clever poem with effective imagery and rhyme.
-I like your line about not being what you expected.
-A good closing couplet.
-When we have a cowbird here in NJ, they usually take a smaller songbird's nest, and the little songbird will raise the large cowbird as its own. Luckily, we don't get these birds too often.

I got into the contest late, too, and somehow didn't do it exactly right. Haven't seen any prompts, and don't lnow where the list of participants is, so have just been doing my own thing. Now that I know you're in it, will look forward to yours.
