what a lovely start to your day. I have found an accelerated dawn chorus programme on BBC4 - they show bits at real speed, zooming on to the next bit, to cover the whole thing in 15 mins, with no voice over. It's wonderful. kay

When I go out for an early morning walk I find that the birds or sitting at the top of the trees and their serenading me with your beautiful songs. I really enjoyed this poem very much. I wish you the very best with all of your writing. Treasure

Your photo is so beautiful and I can see how it inspired this lovely Haiku. There is nothing like sweet birdsong to welcome the new day. A concert we are daily invited to, if we are still enough to listen.

I love both the picture (the greys are beautiful) and the poem. Alliteration is my favourite literary device, so I like your second line very much.
Thanks so much for sharing.

-Very nice photo and presentation, Debra.
-It's always nice to hear the birds; that
one was pretty high up in the tree.
-A well written haiku with effective imagery
about the branch and bird.
-A good satori line, too.

Maybe a blackbird. They sing so beautifully. This is a lovely little haiku with that all-important (for me) alliteration which binds the whole verse together so smoothly and sweetly, like a song itself. Enjoyed the awakening theme and the bird's lofty position up high. Syllable count perfect. Verse ticks all the boxes for me. Thanks for sharing. Debbie

Thank you so much, Debbie, for your kind and thoughtful review of my haiku. It's lovely to know what works :) I enjoy alliteration too (as long as it's not delivered with a sledgehammer!)
Best wishes as always, Debra

Aw, such a lovely and succinct haiku, beautifully written and illustrated with the photo. I can't really see it, but I know it must be there. I'm glad you were blessed with morning inspiration. Sending you my very best and good wishes for the book.

Your haiku was sweet and the syllables were right on track. The bird serenading the morning was a nice image. The alliteration in the middle line was songlike, which worked nicely with the poem about a songbird.
