I have always liked Mother Teresa's poem DO IT ANYWAY. Mother Teresa made a point of encouraging everyone to do their best in the world. She set an example of giving of yourself while expecting little in return.

You give a perfect description of Mother Teresa...always giving everything with no expectations. Thank you for your review.

Very well written and well said! Mother Teresa was always my idol because of her tenacity and "do it anyway" attitude. Christians are certainly under attack these days. Satan is laughing all the way to the Empire State Building!

I love your reference to Satan laughing all the way to the Empire Building! There's probably some truth to that. Wonder what C.S. Lewis would say? I really appreciate your review and especially the sixth star.

That image of Kali is really a contradiction of their stated policy, it seems. You did a good job of writing this and captured or found a picture of what they allowed, and it is gross. Even Hindus must have been embarrassed by this. Such contradiction is a great entry in the contest.

Unbelievable that the owners of the Empire State Building would not make an exception for a saint and peace maker yet honor a pagan godess of destruction. Thanks for sharing her wonderful thought which tell us how to live right!

I agree, in the end it is between you and God or whichever higher power you believe exists. Whenever I am confused by a topic I turn it 180 degrees and look at it from a completely different perspective. An interesting write. Jacqueline

It's all signs of the evil at work in our society today. Witness all the anti semetism. But I agree with you. The building is being ridiculous, and is in fact descriminating against Christians. If they are depicting a religious heathen figure, but not a Christian saint, that is in flagrant violation of their own rules. They are an embarrassment to the city of New York. estory

I totally agree with you. I've written The Empire State Building off as an iconic example of NY style architecture in favor of the Chrysler Building. Personally, I think the Chrysler building has much more artistic style. Thank you for your review.

Very well done story. I find no errors and find the content really interesting. I would love to know the reason for the exception of displaying a Hindu goddess of death. Make no sense at all. But that's the world for you.

Unfortunately, we live now live in a world where right is considered wrong and good is considered evil. I wanted to highlight a perfect example of that fact. There is no plausible reason that could be given for the despicable action that was taken. Thank you for your review and I especially appreciate your generous sixth star.

I have read the above words by Mother Teresa. It was unforgivable that they refused to illuminate for her .. How can anyone see her as a mere religious person? she was a great humanitarian...

I agree. In my view, she was the greatest humanitarian who ever lived. Thank you for your review and blessings to you.

Mother Theresa was praised for her charitable work and her kind heart and it had nothing to do with religion. If the empire state had honoured her, no one would have thought it would have been because she was catholic. These places are sometimes run by radical people with a warped sense of propriety, I agree with the basis of your post here, a fine post for the contest, love Dolly x

You bring up an excellent point that I hadn't considered. Her charitable work would have fit solidly within the spirit of the policy. The denial was based solely on secular, satan-driven, and anti-Christian beliefs. I appreciate your very thoughtful and profound review.

You made excellent points here, showing that their reasoning was hypocritical. Playing devil's advocate, It may be that new management made this decision.
However, the case could be made that Mother Theresa was more than a religious figure. The Nobel Peace Prize also made her an international figure recognized not for her religion but for her humanitarian efforts.
I agree with you.
Good luck in the contest.
