Ever Widening Circles

This was a beautiful read. If the entire piece could be summarized by a single word, you picked an excellent one using "circumnavigated". Avoidance can be so tempting, especially when faith might require the passing through life's "valleys"! Your comparison of a storm on the horizon versus a soul seeking rest highlight the inner struggle...the anger, questioning, transformation, and honesty that might emerge along the way. Thank you for sharing this! Keep on writing!

Comment from Mario PIERRE
Beautifully written, with a judicious use of metaphors and simile. I like the allusion to the concentric circles which at first open, wider and wider, then at the end converge to the source of love... I also liked the verse:who never once let go of my hand... It's so true, more often it's us who ignore the hand extended to us...

A beautiful entry for Faith poetry contest.
I liked your spiritual journey and your search until you found yourself in the arms of God and He never since let go of your hand.
Thank you for sharing and good luck in the contest.

Very good indeed! I think we are all on that spiraling circle around the Almighty. Some of us drawing nearer while others drawing farther away.
I bet there is a sermon in there somewhere.
Good stuff!

Hello Ginda. What a lovely and deeply spiritual poem you have written with talent and grace. I enjoyed reading your FreeVerse and the way you used motion to enhance the qualities of this verse. Well done!! Good luck.

Hello Ginda :)
Your poem is beautiful.
It's well written and honest and I can relate.
The imagery is clear - you travelling around God, getting further and further away... I can see you!
These two lines: 'wanting more understanding less' are just so perfectly put. It is definitely true for me.
I love the progression from ever widening circles when you are circumnavigating, to ever tightening circles as you are steadied. It gives your poem a lovely balance.
I like how your second verse begins with questions and ends with the surety that God has been holding your hand the whole time.
Well written and well presented, I wish you good luck for the contest.
Best wishes, Debra :)

This is a lovely poem! I'm not a poet but a writer. I could never write a poem. I find them very difficult. You're word choices demonstrate your strong faith. I envy you that.

I can completely relate to this poem. I've been through so much too and leave and I've always had God with me. I understand a sense of going through things and you feel like you're getting further in the water like waves and then come back in it's from that perspective that I
read your poem.
