Congratulations on getting back in the groove of jogging! We walk 5 K but not jog it . I hope you and your husband can both get in shape together. Enjoyed your poem celebrating the event!

Hello Helen :)
Thank you!
Shaun's not really into running but he is a keen road cyclist. He gets out every weekend with his cycling club and he also tries to go in the week when he can find the time (and energy!)
I occasionally join him if he's going mountain biking, but I'm wary of riding in traffic so don't enjoy road cycling at all.
We walk the dog together though!
Best wishes as always, Debra x

Comment from Jannypan (Jan)
Your last line was funny but appropriate, Debra.
I enjoyed your poem The picture fit well. It seemed
you did a great job. I believe you will meet your goal
now that you've done this jog today. I liked the color scheme
and the rhyme scheme. Is it safe to run alone?
Thanks for sharing, Jan

Hi Jan :) Thank you for your lovely feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed my poem and appreciate the vote of confidence too! When I'm on my own, I only run locally and where there are plenty of people around. I wouldn't run anywhere that is out of the way, unless I was running with someone else.
Best wishes as always, Debra :)

Excellent short rhymed poem. I like the presentation too. Good rhyming that doesn't sound forced.

What a nice, happy poem this is, and I can understand your joy in running 5K in just over thirty minutes!
Very well done, and here you are poem 28 in your NaPoWriMo.
So sixth worthy in every sense. :)

Very nice short poetry, and straight to the point. As the weather warms up and summer approaches, many us will join you in those morning runs. As much as we don't want to, but must to stay healthy.
Good alternating rhyme.

This poem, Aglow, salutes the evidence of your reentry into the world of health and wellness. The first steps are the second hardest. The first hardest are the second steps, once you are reminded of the first.

Well done Debra both on your 5k and your post. I'm very impressed with your timing and self-discipline and think you can definitely be excused the red face! I enjoyed this verse and the fact that the first stanza is all about forcing yourself out there whilst the second was absolute celebration and exhileration
