what a beautiful thought!
Strolling over a plush forest floor, bare-foot, coming to an opening to a expansive lake, glittering 'neath the midnight sky where I can just lay back and take that giant sip of the stars, quench my thirst for a connection to a higher-greater power and be blanketing in the comfort of its all.

I know I may use 'painted' a lot when reviewing you, but that's what you do. Paint the perfect image for a mind to expand it dimensions.

Needless to say, or more to the point, in very much need to say... beautiful presentation, composition and construction.

For me, the plush forest floor, starry sky, and lake are a good image for meditation.

Funny that you said barefoot... that's how i imagined it but i didn't write it.... how did you know?

I love to engage with the earth and find a barrier in any form of shoe-ware would have cheapened my experience, even though virtual. I really loved the image you created through your words in this Tanka MariVal, it took me to where I needed to be... somewhere so beautiful in nature to recharge.

Nicely done modern tanka, Gloria. The words match the picture well and has good metaphor and personification.
Though to me it looks like meandering river and not a lake.
