Congratulations on your milestone post, Debi! What a post it is. I enjoyed reading it especially Piper's ability to work out the challenges of the situation without becoming overwhelmed. I agree with Redd-Leif; Piper's music is magic. I particularly liked the lines, 'The swarm took on the soothing rhythm of the melody,' and 'The wasps buzzed in tempo with Piper's steady, measured cadence as they moved forward.' They are descriptive and lovely in their image. I look forward to reading more.

Congratulations on your milestone post. I'll never think the same way about wasps again! You have the reader believing these insects do respond to music or at least Piper's flute. Excellent writing to bring us into this fantasy world.

Hi Shari,
Thank you for the congratulations and the kind comments about making you believe in the fantasy of the music in Piper's flute.
Have a great day.

Hello Debi,
This is a wonderful chapter connecting music, nature, and the fae world.
There's a gentleness in your words, even though the occasional wasp may do what wasps do, and sting the hand that lulls them.
I think we've reached the crescendo, even the decrescendo, now only the reprieve remains which I suspect will be a fae festival, or a quiet recognition
of the the wonder of the world. Perhaps Rupert will make an appearance.
Yes, "when Piper plays it's magic. Pure magic."
And when Debi writes, she weave a special magic of her own.
Well done.
Best wishes to all, from fae to elemental to human.

Hi Robert,
Thank you for the analysis and wonderful comments. You're right about us nearing the end. Just a few things to wrap up.
I love how you tie dialog from the chapter into your review. I think I will be smiling for hours after your kind comments.
Thank you also for the six stars. I appreciate the encouragement.

First, WJDebi, I am sorry that I have no 6 star awards left, because this is 'tour de force'. Secondly, I am new to the site, and haven't read your work before; it is rather like starting to read Lord of the Rings at page 350. without the faintest idea of the plot, background or characterization.
On the other hand, as a Brit, I have read nearly everything in the fantasy genre from the British Isles, and a good deal of what was written in the States from the 1970s onward, so I am a natural fan.
I really enjoyed the character of Piper in the short space available; he is a convincing young hero, and has a great future ahead of him, I'm sure. I also enjoyed the pace of the narrative and the control you showed in developing not only the drama but the humor - some light touches really defused the more threatening moments. Finally, I thought that the dialogue was natural and unobtrusive, allowing the story to flow.
Next time I will do a better job, but for today, thank you for introducing me to your magical world.

This is such a well crafted story with excellent notes and character details which are always so welcome. You are therefore immediately engaged in a well written and colourful tale with intriguing characters ( I love the way you even detail the different heights of the trolls in the beginning). The sweet sounds of Piper's flute and his mission for good flow through this prose delighting the reader. Thanks for sharing. Debbie

Lovely fantasy piece. Thank you. Magic, flutes and wasps. What more can a reader want? Your narrative and the power of your imagination spurred me on. Well done!

What a great chapter! Loved how Piper learned this skill as he performed it with his flute, dialoguing together, as they carefully removed the wasps, concerned for their welfare. It shows the harmony of nature with music. And the crowd could be introduced to him in this dramatic way. It also led to Piper feeling more close to his siblings and even addressing Summerstorm as "Father."
Some comments - you may have fixed before I got to review this:
gave him a puzzled looked (look)
quickly are possible (as possible)
Redd-Leif and Melodica come (came)
Congratulations on your 200th post!!

Hi Helen,
Thanks for catching the SPAG. I find it interesting that it is easier for me to catch things like that in other people's writing, but no matter how many times I read my own they slip through. I have fixed them.
Thank you for the excellent analysis of the chapter and the encouraging comments. Thank you for the congrats as well.
Have a great day.

That's the same for me, too. We know what we meant to say so we read it very fast! 💞😊
Comment from Pam (respa)
Another excellent chapter, Debi, that doesn't miss a beat. I like the calmer nature of this one compared to the frenetic pace of the previous one with attacks and wasps, etc. Everyone is tired, even the wasps. I like the description of the trolls who are going to escort Burkehart.
The connection between Piper and Crescendo continues to grow, like they are one in tune with each other. MC also had a good idea about Lynx and Serein going with him. He also does a good job as director of this impromptu program.
Piper realized he needed to change the music to get the wasps moving, and his plan worked.
I think he even amazes MC with his adept playing. I like how Piper communicates with the wasps and wants them to know they and their work are appreciated.
At the end it was like a regular virtuoso performance with a grand audience appreciating the musician. I like the ending and it is a very touching family moment. I imagine the planned festival will be a grand event.
I have one question about the italicized sections. Are they always directed to the flute, or does Piper use his mind so things like the wasps can understand him.
Well done, my friend.

Hi Pam,
Thank you for the detailed analysis of the chapter. I'm glad you liked the calmer pace with Piper figuring out what was needed to release the wasps while keeping everyone safe in the process.
MC knows he has a special student. Piper is starting to accept he has a family.
Piper does love to perform so having an audience is a plus for him.
The italicized sections are Piper talking either to the flute or through the flute. He must talk to the insects, flora, etc. through the music so it has to go through the flute but he directs it. He's just learning though so who knows what he will be capable of in the future. Not this book though.
I appreciate your continued support. Only a couple of chapters to go.
Thank you for the super six stars!

I love this story, we all need a little myth and magic in our lives to escape it, to give life to those creatures that we find only in legend and in stories of high quality, such as these ones you write Debbie, this has a most satisfying and lovey conclusion to it Debi, well done, blessings Roy
