Hi Melissa,
This nonet give a strong image of the desert ravine in a storm. The artwork adds to the effect. I like the bullet metaphor for the raindrops. The probably pick up a lot of dust until the rain dampens the ground.
Congratulations on placing second in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Have a great day.

I love your Nonet. I was away for a week and got behind (as usual). You have used some very colourful, words to describe the picture you have chosen.

A virtual 6 stars for such a
skillfully written poem. A way
with words. I don't know the status of the nonet contest.
My very best wishes and
warmest regards.

A very impressive nonet poem rich in word and imagery.
Your thoughtful word choices bring the stark, harsh but picturesque
desert landscapes to life.

This nonet, Sandpaper Canyons, has the proper formatting and describes this rugged and harrowing location where even the rain may cause a life-or-death event.

This is a poem for the senses. Your words put us right there in those canyons to experience the approaching storm. Beautiful imagery and sound effects. I really enjoyed reading this and wish you well in the contest.

Beautifully descriptive Nonet. I like the sandpaper canyons and shadowy red silt. Also the raindrops that bullet the dust. I can see the storm happening. Blessings & best wishes in the contest. Carol

Nicely written poem, that I enjoyed immensely. Have a blessed week.
Comment from Debbie D'Arcy
A flowing and very evocative nonet, this is packed full of imagery which not only fits the image so well but fits the shape of the verse as the build-up occurs leading ominously to those thund'rous storms. I think my favourite 2 lines; "Sporadic raindrops bullet the dust." Good luck! Debbie
