This is a good chapter. She seems to have gotten a well-trained, amiable horse, which has to be a relief for her. She has enough knowledge to take them out of the ship, which was lucky for them. You certainly deserve that Book of the Month award. Good luck.

Hi Carol Hillebrenner,
Thank you for going back and reading this previous chapter, especially since it is not currently promoted.
Thank you for the kind comments about the nomination for Book of the Month.

Beautiful artwork and it is perfect for the colt and story about him. I like the calm nature of this one. For being a younger horse, he was responding very well to Ava, and made her job much easier. I love how you give us a sense of how intuitive these beautiful creatures are. As you present each one, each has its own personality, and when they are free on the beach, they all seem to get a long. I am loving the stories, and the love of horses that you put in each one, Debi. I don't know what to expect with the colt and wonder once he is ready, I wonder if the goat will go at the same time. I'm sure you're not going to tell.

Hello Debi,
Horse number three was a welcome relief from the first two. Perhaps better trained or simply more docile. The description was very well done, as with the first two. Talking calmly seems to be the key.
Now there is only one left, and, of course, the goat. Will the young one cause trouble of just want to join his friends?
Wouldn't it be odd if all the horse exit nicely, but the goat, being indignant at being the last one to go, gave Ava a butt in the butt. :)
Well done, once again.
Best wishes.
Robert

Hi Robert,
Yes, Ava got lucky on this one. There are still two animals to go. You ask some valid questions about them.

I enjoyed reading this. Good horse stories are appreciated. Here is a good detail: He gave off a composed and dignified demeanor as we walked toward the elevator.
And of course the author notes are helpful. Nice read.

So one more horse and a goat to go... so far so good.
I liked the way you wrote the monologues .It was a clever way of giving information instead of mere descriptions .It kept the interest of the reader alive. waiting for the next...

Hi Sanku,
Yep, we have just passed half and have two more animals to go. I'm glad you like the monologue. Talking to horses is a good way to keep their attention, keep them calm, and let them know where you are--all important for a handler's safety.
I'm so encouraged that you are looking forward to the next chapter.
Thank you. Have a great weekend.

Debi, hi!!
I was glad to see your horse story again. I've been busy with school and having to review hit and miss. I hit a great one!! Horse number three was a gentleman for you, and that was good after Titan's near catastrophe!
I hope the last, and youngest, will turn out well. Then there's the silly goat, lol.
Hugs,
Rhonda

Hi Rhonda,
No worries. I didn't post for a week due to how crazy life is at the moment. Between hauling hay, canning, and my Mom having extra doctors' appointments I am a bit behind, too.
I'm glad you liked this chapter.
Thank you so much for the six-star rating and the encouraging comments about the writing.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Comment from Loren .
A good read. One thing I especially like about this chapter is how the main character is continually talking to the horses. The sound of the leader's voice calms the horse and relaxes them to make them feeling that everything is going to be okay. It also, I believe, calms the person dealing with the horses. Now on to that last horse and see how the main character handles the dilemma. Loren

Aw, this is my kind of horse. I love good natured animals. He seems exuberant with the others too. Not too sedate.
A lovely chapter for your book.
Sending you my best today as always, and best wishes for the book.

Great chapter. I'm starting to really like these horses. Especially this one. It is obvious you like horses, I'm I anxious to see how it goes with the colt and the goat and then find out what happened to all the people.
