Love the mention of fast food. That was cute. Great take on the Zombie Apocalypse.
I'm a bit confused as to whether or not this is based on a song like my 12 days of Halloween. You mentioned wanting to try taking a song and changing the words.

What a great Hora Haiku or Brevette, Gypsy. The pictures were great they showed all sorts of zombies. Your words were just right, they played into the whole zombie thing. Blessed Be n Hugs!!!

This is a great Halloween poem. Unfortunately the first stanza spoke to me:
nuclear winter
in a dark and gloomy world--
zombies survived
It reminded me of the horrors of wars in our world today, nothing what could come of it all.

I like it! More like LOVE it! Perfect for this time of year and although I have never heard of a Brevet it felt like a Haiku with afterthoughts.
Not sure if that makes sense, but that was my take. Great piece. Needed a sixer.

It makes total sense. Brevette means "brief; succinct" and haiku is the same. The first three lines are a horror haiku, the rest are Brevettes.

Zombies are my Achilles heel. I've tried to get used to the images and thoughts of them. Even written my own zombie spoof, but they continue to terrify me. But, having said that, I enjoy a good scare. Both your poem and the chosen images have achieved that. Lol. Gretchen
