This was a fantastic take on the contest, Jim. Great how you mixed his anguish with that of the suffering in the Bible. Excellent piece altogether, friend. Congrats on the win. Have a great day, Jim, and I'll catch you on the next go round.

Congratulations on your well deserved win. I enjoyed this inspirational tour through the Bible as you highlighted stories that demonstrate the power and goodness of God.

When we all get to Heaven
What a day of rejoicing that will be
When we all see Jesus
We will sing and shout the victory

You will see them again! Heaven is a real place. Your writing is interesting and meaningful. Thanks for the beautiful song, one of my favorites. Have you ever watched Watchman River on YouTube? It is about the end times and very down to earth I enjoy him and he believes just like me. God bless you, Laura.

I'm sure whatever.was stolen from you in this life will be restored ten fold on the next, whatever grief you've suffered will be forgotten and the comfort that God promised, as like Job, will be your God's promise, all tears wiped away, His joy as recompense, I have tasted it Jim, brandished written, blessings Roy

I'm aching for a six to give this, my friend. Yes, you can be assured you'll see the Lord and your loved ones in God's kingdom above. This is the hope and reassurance we have in Christ.

Sending you my best today as always for this marvelous post.

An imaginative and thought-provoking story here! I was instantly engaged by the image and your death-defying (or nearly) climb and then the stream of biblical reference as your thoughts became ever more focused on the worthiness of Job/Laz(a)rus' message. Your story seems to fit the brief perfectly with these reflections and the protagonist's longing to meet his family again after his inevitable death. Well done, Jim, and good luck! Debbie

I thought you did a great job of exploring the rendezvous theme from different angles. The spiritual exposition was really thoughtful (I re-read Job most recently last January) and the series of questions at the end opened up some ideas about the ethical complexities of serving your country - a very topical concept at the moment. One little query - should it be "Lazurus" or "Lazarus"? Beautiful writing and good luck for the contest.

Very different and very original angle towards a rendezvous and others who have experienced a final rendezvous. I enjoyed your story and send best wishes gif your entry in the contest.

This story is both a Biblical lesson and a life lesson. If every reader learned what I learned they would all be blessed. A different take on Rendevous but a clever one.

I write some silly stuff sometimes, but the important ones are the ones that honor God!
