Oooh that was gripping. I found no grammatical errors in this one. It flowed easily and caught me wanting to read the next one. Keep going.

Milk carton - was it full?

Great literature!

There are more rats than people in this world and it doesn't take much for them to completely overwhelm a home. The worst part is all the diseases they carry and spread. The best place to start with getting rid of rats is disinfecting everywhere regularly. Then block entrances and clean up yards, wood piles, or anything that might draw or feed them. And I'm sure you've heard all of this before. Cockroaches haven't been linked to diseases, but they do carry bacteria, which can cause serious infections like strep or staff. Sorry for the novella that doesn't even mention your chapter. Wishing you the best, today and always! :-)

Thank you Ric is always I appreciate you very much! I am battling the terrible creatures in this house and had the rat men in and all holes plugged. And I think there's some stuck in the walls. I will continue to do what I can while I search for a new home. Thank you again my friend I hope you're having a wonderful holiday!

The holidays are just like any other day for me. I'll just read, write, or maybe go play cards at Seminole Hard Rock in the Ft. Lauderdale, "FL Fun in the Sun Tournament." LOL.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday!

I liked reading this. It had details that spell out the discomfort of trying to evade someone in spite of having wet, frozen socks on. The last part is a definite cliff-hanger!
And for the first part, I shuddered a bit. Rats are no fun. I think I saw a dead one at the bottom of our hill about a month ago and was startled, because there are at least five very active cats on or near our street, including our feral cat which is hyper-vigilant when it comes to hunting. However, he rarely goes downhill to hunt. Hope everything works out.

A couple of suggestions:
I stopped at the end of the fence and waited there a few moments longer just in case Mr. D returned.
I think maybe add a comma after 'longer' in the sentence, just to give it a breath for a long sentence with that double verb and a dependent clause at the end.

I could hear nothing inside it was completely silent.
This is a run-on sentence with two independent clauses. So maybe try:
I could hear nothing inside; it was completely silent.

Still silence no sounds of kids running around.
This could be fixed with a long dash after silence. That can be inserted in the Advanced Editor screen if you press Edit and look below the largest text box, where it should give you a choice of Use Advanced Editor or Use Basic Editor options. You look for the Omega symbol, like an O with little feet on either side of it, and when you click on that, it should say Select Special Character, and the long dash can be clicked on if you look six rows down toward the right side.

You left this on a scary note. I hope we'll learn more soon. You go from bad situation to another.

I don't know if you are friends with Spitfire but she had a serious rat problem recently. I had mice not rats but I got a big bottle pepperment and spread drops of it in areas that got in. That and making sure there was nothing they could find to eat took care of the problem.

Good morning Lea,
I have not read any of your chapters for awhile as I have been super busy... Good for you for continuing to write. I realise it must be super difficult.
Very exiting to say the least.
Just be aware of your tenses Lea... I know you are thinking back so it would be past tense not now...
and I think you might mean IN my head not But the warning bells on my head ... right...
also, Think you meant MILK CRATE... not milk carton.
Over all I think this write is excellent...

Hello Lea,
Well, you've left us with two distinct issues. One in the present, and one in the past. I hope you can find a suitable place to live soon. Do you work, have you got an income? Surely there must be places that the state provides for people who are economically disadvantaged? One thing is certain, you can't stay where you are. If the rats are used to living in the area, they probably won't be able to be eradicated totally and will continue to be a problem.
It sounds like what we expected to happen to Mrs. D has happened. Why anyone would opt to stay in an abusive situation is a mystery to me, but I know that everyone is dealing with a different cultural standard, and leaving may not be an option. Thanks for sharing gal.
Blessings,
Tom

Let's hope you can get in and get out fast, Lea, before that psychopath gets back. Sounds like this might be a medical emergency if there's blood flowing. I hope the police get involved this time and give this poor lady some protection. You would probably have to vamoose before they came, though, if you are still a minor by this point.

This is very suspenseful and frightening, and I have no idea what's going to happen. You could all use a bit of good fortune by now. - Jim

Oh Lea, I'm not sure which account to react to first. Both so dreadful; both spelling out a need to leave urgently. At least your present situation can be rectified without you needing to look after others. Mrs D was never going to stop being his victim, all probably for the sake of the children and her fear of the unknown. Now it sounds as if she's seriously hurt. I know you'll get her out of there, Lea. Stay strong. bells (in) my head. Thanks so much for sharing. Debbie x

Oy vey!! This is getting so dire.

I am glad you are leaving that place you're living in, Lea. There's no way that's good for your physical OR mental health. The sooner the better. I hope Fate is looking out for you and that you find a lovely cabin ASAP.

Hello, my friend. Yes, I go to look at it tomorrow. I will take pictures. I do have a feel but I always like my own. My mother continually tries to get me kicked out of here daily. Oh dear Lea, this does not sound good and I hope Mrs D is okay. You left us to imagine the horror here. I am sorry your living conditions are poor just now and you have vermin in the house. That must be awful. When I bought my house, it was cockroach infested and it took me a good 6 months to eradicate them. I learned a lot about them and how they lived and now I never see one. Another fine chapter Lea, love Dolly x

Yeah that becomes terrible ever since the construction of two new bridges. One is a six lane bridge very large for us Also replace the bridge That was built in the thirties they are currently trying to build a new one. This has rustled up the local rats Where our neighborhood is. Be that is it may I go now to the mountains to a cottage to view for renting. I go to peace to clean air and great fishing and no one in my family needs to know where. I have 1 person always who knows exactly where in that and that's the way it shall be, and so I'm taking a lot of flags. I'm writing the book. My mother tries to get me kicked out of here on the daily basis. But she does not get me. I know how to deal with her and dealing I am. Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful. Rescue, thank you for your fine rating. I so appreciate you and in your time and all that you do. Thank you again!
