Looks like I missed some serious action in this story! Emma being in such a situation that she had to actually kill someone to save Seth's life. Looks like they are much closer now, though he seems a little tentative.
A few thoughts:
Perhaps: shared (with him) what (had) happened the previous night with Elizabeth
Perhaps: tomorrow. Next week at the same time all right?
Suggest: I should (be) too, right? RE: he should be open with her also.
Love that line! "I guess everybody knew but us."

Hi again, Barbara!
I liked this chapter. It gives us a chance to get a breather in between action. We see little Molly is slowly getting better, Seth and Emma are accepting their relationship, they are getting ready for the event, Seth is a bit jealous, and, most importantly, Emma is getting the help she needs to deal with killing a man's he had no real choice but to kill.
Hugs and Happy Birthday,
Rhonda

Thank you for the kind review. I don't think Seth is totally worried, just realizing it won't be easy to win her heart over.
-
And that's okay. She's a complex person.

I'm way behind on reviewing but that doesn't mean I enjoy reading your chapters any less, whether is a lot happening or little. It's always a pleasure to know I'm going to read some clean and wholesome life. Thanks for sharing.

Oh yes, lord of movement in this chapter. I did t see any issues with the writing or structure. I like that they are working things together. Adds a nice element. Looking forward to the next!
Good luck in the chapter of the month contest. You are up to 3 votes. Blessings!

Thank you for the kind review. I won't win the contest. I'm shocked I even got three votes. I normally only get one. I won't comment any farther. LOL
-
Unfortunately, it really is a popularity contest. Just like the ?open? contests. Still, the honor is being selected. Regardless, you get my vote.
D
-
Thank you. Yes, the honor is getting selected. You're right popularity is the winner. I'm on this site often, daily, but I don't really socialize that much. Just with a few people.

Well, I?m glad we?re buddies. You have helped me immensely, and not just grammatically. Also you are #1 so that means your writing speaks for itself!
-
Thank you for the encouragement. I have a reviewer who doesn't like my work because of the morality I include. This person says it's old fashioned and nobody, but FanStorians will like it. I remind them I have five books published and they're selling. I'm not getting rich off them but they're selling. So, I guess I'm on to something. I'm glad you're one of my buddies too. It means a lot to me. HUGS!!
-
Negative Nellies will always opine in the negative. It is their nature. I think I know of whom you speak and I have him blocked if it is the same. If somebodies reviews make me want to stop writing I eliminate that immediately.
Anyways, the lack of morality used to be fresh and exciting. It is now so commonplace that adding some morality is the new fresh and exciting. Full circle.
Blessings. Have a great day!
-
I'm just old fashioned, so I stick to my morals. It's just who I am. I refused to change to please people or publishers. My publisher seems to approve and he's in his early 30's.
-
Plus you?re a great writer, so that helps with the publisher!
-
Thank you. You are too. This new novel is good. As you know I wasn't fond of the previous ones, but you let your reader see the characters as people and not just battles. You're great at writing description.

Excellent chapter, Barbara, I've read the other one I missed and I'm trying to catch up on some others I have missed.
Every book has that laid back time as we do in real life, that's what makes it interesting and believable. Well done! Sandra xx
I'm waiting for the doctor to come and see me, I'm hoping she will say I can go home today! Xx

I will pray that you get to go home, but please don't overdue. You need to make yourself a priority and take care of yourself. Thank you for the kind review.

This is a very good chapter with a number of different characters who have different things on their minds. It's a good way to get to know them better. It seems Emma is working with Pastor Pat in order to deal with what she went through. I like her honest answer to his question about what would have happened, and I think she is exactly right.
Seth and Emma have a good, honest discussion about the incidents she has been involved with, including Lizzy and an update on Molly.
Seth opens up more and tells Emma more about being raised by grandparents, and how it was difficult for his sister.
A couple of small things:
to process everything and alone with Lizzy."
[and be alone with Lizzy]
out of their will and it stated she'd never own any
[comma after will]

I have rewritten the first sentence you've pointed out numerous times and am still struggling with it. Thank you for the help. I always appreciate it.

I'm so happy, Seth and Emma are finally dating openly. But still no kiss.
It seems like they are settling into a nice routine.
I enjoyed the chapter, thank you.

A new computer to start the New Year. Now that's the way to do it, eh?
I enjoyed reading this post for the clarity you provide. I can't comment on grammar or punctuation because there isn't anything to comment/correct. It looks okay to me.
I found it interesting you muted Emma and Pastor Pats continued conversation regarding the 6th Commandment. Was it purposeful or did you choose to not muddy the story with a theological discussion?
I can see the merits of both; a brief theological discussion or none at all.
You couldn't have said it any clearer. "It's mutual faith in Christ, friendship, and loyalty that holds relationships together when things get tough."
I always benefit reading your work and I hope to write at your level sometime soon.
Thanks for the lesson.

Didn't want to go into theology. I get into enough trouble because I haven't had these two in bed. LOL Thank you for the support.

Sorry for the delay in reading this post Barbara, I'm away on holiday at the moment, but back home on Thursday and back to work sadly on Friday. I enjoyed this piece and I could feel Emma's concern about the shooting of the man who would've attacked her in the previous chapter. I hope she does manage to find some peace. A well written piece, Barbara. Happy New Year!
