This sounds like it was a scary incident. You were so fortunate no one died. I like the descriptive words like 'concertinaed' and 'hampered.'
The only teensy suggestion I have is this:
As my muscles gradually relaxed and the pain subsided there was the task of buying a new car- another strong Camry.
I would put a comma after the word 'subsided.' And if you can find it in Advanced Editor, I would insert a long comma instead of a hyphen between 'car' and 'another strong Camry.

I have often stared into the glare of a rising sun as I drove. Your story gives us a GRAPHIC depiction of what this Camry driver went through before, during, and after the accident. You evoke sympathy for the driver and hopefully more caution from the reader if he/she drives. Rod

I've been involved in a few accidents since I first sat beng the wheel of a car some sixty five years, one day when I went to the motor vehicles place to register my car, the lady couldn't believe the number of my licence, it was so low, yes we are the lucky ones, those who have survived accidents, beautifully written, good luck, blessings Roy

I am on my fourth Camry (first car in 1986) and my husband's on his second. Love them! That was a well-told story about your accident. I can imagine the shock. It just happened so suddenly. I'm glad you were OK, and that the Camry absorbed the hit for you!
