Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

To yearn to burn such as a single candle lit?
Which turns into a raging forest's fire of desijre.
Me...
...
To write and invite to take just a single bite?
Of thee Jessica?
Congratulations on your latest accomplishment and all to come
You...

Oh my goodness that was quite the angry fire talking to us. Well, I guess I can't imaging a nice fire.

This line was magnificently descriptive:
Melting metal and flesh,
filling chimneys and lungs.
In my solitary quest
for more.

Well done!
D

Respect the flickering flames that offer comfort but can also leave a path of destruction. You poem teases us with both and leads us to our choices.
Well done.

You have reminded all of us that we can enjoy fire, the benefits are great. You've also reminded all of us that we can't afford to play with fire. Thank you for the words of caution and the personification of that with which we are all most familiar. Job well done.

Forty-two years as an educator has taught me that it's always you quiet ones we have to watch out for.

Sweet positive, always-generous-with-her-words Jessica suddenly brings the HEAT to her poetry!! YIKES!!

I took this as an allegory, though I honestly wasn't imagining it was about YOU, per se, but perhaps someone who's scorched you?

I recognize this person very well, because she looks at me every day in the mirror. I'm as nice as nice can be...until I am mistreated. And then, get ready for the conflagration. I will make it the most memorable day of that person's life.

OUTRAGEOUSLY good work with this one, Jessica, and I love this new facet of you!! I'm sorry I didn't save you a six. This deserves one! I'll give you a little leprechaun, instead. xoxo

[Nope; I had to give it a 'banner,' instead, because you already had a leprechaun on it.] xo

    I adore you!!!!

This made my day. It seems we are kindred (firey) spirits and I'm not a bit surprised. It's all fun and games until someone lights the fuse, right!? ;)

Thank you SO much for your wonderful review, and generous banner, my fellow Phoenix!

This is very well written, and it can be taken in a lot of different ways. I'd rather take it that we often play around with things that will destroy us and then we get burned. I wish you the very best with all of your writing. Patricia .

Hi Jessica
This is a well done personification of different meanings for fire and the ways it can and cannot be contained.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Have a great rest of the week

Hi Jessica!

The personification of fire is a bold move and especially intriguing as I sell woodstoves for a living. I can clearly see that I will enjoy your selections this month. I plan to fan you so I don't miss any!

Another fabulous poem! And I can imagine the personification of fury as well as passion in your poem. Great job with the challenge! Keep up the great work but it would be hard to promote so high for 30 days so you can just put a certificate except on weekends - just a suggestion.

This is a very interesting point of view regarding fire. However one interprets your wonderful descriptive words... it is very demonstrative of how fire can destroy or help mankind. Then again... is it about a horrible relationship that burned between two people... or is it the destructive state of our world today?
Very thought provoking piece of work. Thanks for sharing this with us.
