Another fine poem, Gypsy....and a sad truth indeed....hard to imagine but often the reality behind the lie of a normal, happy picture of domestic bliss shown to the outside world

Gypsy,
One of the few times I really was super mad/upset at my daughter's antics was when she crayoned her bedroom wall.
She did not hide in the closet, but she did need to (try to) clean the wall.
Thanks for that memory through your poem.

It is frightening to a child to witness the two adults he loves and depends on fighting with one another. You show a realistic response of the child trying to keep a stable sense in his mind through his drawings.

Thank you very much, big sister. Child abuse comes in a sort of way. I feel so sad for abused children, they are little innocent angels.

this was sad, but at least he had a safe place to retreat to

the crayons is a page divider, as the poem says, the boy is in the closet drawing happy family but the parents fight alot.
