congratulations on being the contest winner! Well done gal. I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner. I've been busy with various comings and goings with the kids. It's been kind of exhausting.
We moved in to a neighborhood with the best neighbors a person could ask for. The wife's name is Patty. The kids all love her and Butch, and one of the girls calls her Patty Cakes. I've not known very many Patties, but the peppermint ones aren't the only ones that are sweet, obviously. So glad you got this well deserved honor gal.

I guess I somehow missed your message gal, sorry about that. I haven't been on here very much lately. I go in cycles, and we still have several of our girls here visiting, so that impacts the amount of time I'm on here. I also haven't had much to say lately. I need to get back into writing mode I guess.
I was going to check and see what the status of the book was today, but it looks like you received it, I'm so glad. Sometimes they take an uncommon amount of time to get media rate packages to their destination. I hope you enjoy it gal.

This is lovely story. I've lost things twice. Once everything when I was ten in a tornado and Then in a housefire, I lost family albums my love letters and many other thing. My yourg daughter had begged for a Cabbage Patch KId and she had it two day when we had the house fire and everything in her room burned. It seem however, every time we had something like that happen we hae more and better things later so I was never very sad over the losses.

Oh Beth, I am so sorry for you losing things twice in such disastrous ways.
That just isn't fair, dear friend. Back then we lost and it was gone. We didn't get anything new, so I am glad you were able to get them back.

Hi Brenda, yes, I have lupus and it has slowly affected every part of my body. There was a time when I couldn't walk at all, but now I can be on my feet for a couple minutes and then my spine or back will put me down. So they want to do a third major spine surgery and I just said no. I can't handle anymore. So I am blessed that I have my writing. That helps me concentrate on something besides the pain throughout my entire body. So I am blessed because I have all you wonderful friends in my life. That is so big too.

Such a blessed friendship. I'm a little saddened because all I can remember from childhood is trauma and I don't want to write about that. People treat those stories like they do the people who suffer from the memories. They make you feel like a rescue animal. All trauma, no love. Not true at all. I really liked this memory. Mine is all fiction.

Now I understand why you are so lovely and so caring. Your mother was a wonderful example of that. Your dad was playful also. I am thinking kindly of you for your grieving for your losses. What a great way to look at the gift of that doll and the gift of your friend. Our poetry even today, your collection you have is very fragile.
