This poem, Try as I May, presents a relationship that seems to be the armless hug from the indifferent other, and the muted lectures given to the deaf.

This is such a deep poem, like a cry for help. I had a feeling of being trapped reading it.
How frustrating it must be foe those who try their best say after day and it's still over good enough and to still mot he heard. It a lot more present and real in people's lives than we know. But those who suffer, do so in silence and it becomes the norm. Which is just so very sad. Everyone deserves happiness. Thanks for sharing

Wow - Your poem does an excellent job of describing what happens in many relationships. It's so difficult to stop being a victim, and just listen and try to look at what's happening from the viewpoint of the other person. I was married to someone who was always a victm and never could find joy in life. So sad. Thank you for this!

Your writing captures the frustration of feeling unappreciated in a relationship. You share this in such a powerful pay. The excellent imagery and raw emotion shared here create a powerful portrayal of the pain and isolation experienced. Excellent job.
