Of course I am interested in how you are doing. Put is I was in it for a mutual whining society, I would not have time to do anything else. I write to be above my pain. To be able to rise above for a while. I have been writing since I was eight. I swear there is no more than 4 or 5 stories about me being in the hospital, and they are funny ones. Pity will not sustain you.

Thanks, Karen, for these thought-provoking reviews. Each one gives me something to ponder, which I like in a review. You don't like pity parties and that goes double for me. I write to make a difference and, motivate people to feel their emotions. Pondering the views of the inner psyche is a hobby of mine.

Useful food for thought. There is no replacement for the physical community. Me personally, I write for my own entertainment, and to create political merchandise to sell. Others seem to take their writing way more seriously. Maybe if I was only writing words, I would too : )

Well, I totally agreed with your thought! We chose to write because of our interests shared with like mindedness, and NOT to impress each other in anyway, but to share our writing into a higher meaningful. Anyway, congrats to your "Recognized" and "All Time Best #14!"

Well, Mr. Doty, I write because it's fun, and I can't not write. Political pieces are not fun, but sometimes I need to express my feelings about what is happening to my country. But mostly, I love to write humorous pieces. Love to read them too. I also like to read pieces by people who love what they do and who put their heart into telling about it.
Your poems that inspired people to help the homeless must be really heartfelt and energizing. Good for you.
Anyway I think people should write what they feel good writing about, or feel the need to write about. I didn't mean to go on so long.

I write to help clear the clutter from my mind. I want to get out the devious thoughts I do not want to turn into actions. My writing isn't the go-to for most of the readers on this site as I write more of a twisted and dark nature but I still do it because I want to and I love it.

We all write for different reasons, but hopefully, it's because we have something we want or need to share with others. And maybe, our words can make a true difference for someone in life, a day, or even a minute. Thanks for sharing.

What a very interesting and thought provoking piece you have written. It certainly has made me ask myself the question of why do I write and made me realize that having been a dancer and choreographer for many years but now I am in my 80's writing is the next best thing to quench my creativity. Thanks for sharing. Jen.

Nice to meet you, Jen. I am impressed with you being a dancer and choreographer for many years. I love dancers and how flexible and freely they move. Quenching your creativity is a great way to express yourself. I will check out your portfolio and see what I think. If you don't mind my asking, how long have you been a member of this writing site?

Great post, this is so true I was kinda in the same boat where I was concerned about how people would perceive me as for my poetry but then also just write what you feel, and you do find answers. I am new to fan story only posted two poems so far, I enjoyed reading your post

Welcome to Fanstory! You will find your answers just like I did when I joined back long ago. I slowly gained readers by reading other writer's work. If you fan the writers you relate to or can learn from, you will gain readers.

Some of the things I write is for that reason if it is something I feel strongly about. I like having people I feel I can interact with all over the globe and now that I'm older, if I was being creative I think I might become depressed. Writing gives me a reason to keep having an active role in the world.

Yep, this is one of the reasons I don't post much on the site these days. Years ago here, folk used to write for the joy of it. There were a lot of fiction writers too which there are sadly not many of any more.
I find what I want and like to write doesn't really match up these days to the quick write, disposable stuff the site seems to be in favour of these days.
I still write what I want to write and don't play the 'Fanstory game'. It's a trap that grabs most folk.

Yeah. I'm tired of playing the fanstory game. Thanks for keeping it real. Things have changed a lot since the old days. Yet I am received better now than before. Go figure. I've slowly gained popularity and that I attribute to making friends here on this site.
To me that is the best part of this site and why I keep coming back for more.
