WIth SAmi and a pregnant Sarah the situation is tense Noah's burden is doubled .i think it is action time and am looking forward to the next.. That they are armed is a reason for concern...

Barbara,
Your chapter moves your story quite nicely.
You have nice dialogue. Your punctuation is good. Your story is very interesting.
Human trafficking goes on in a lot of countries, including the U.S. it's great that you expose this wrong through your novel.
Great story, Barbara.
Best wishes,
Cindy

An unexpected twist. Timely, as well. This is a chapter with building excitement, well-written, as always.
Nothing was noticeable that needed correcting or clarifying.
Another excellent chapter, my friend. :-)

Things are hotting up, I wonder if they are more than just illegals, if they are armed. Perhaps they are after Sami? But how would they know she is here? This is getting tense. And then there is Sarah, she's pregant, and we don't know how Bob took the news. I hope to be around for the next chapter. Well done! :) Sandra xx

I don't know the particulars of illegal crossings or human traffickers but I do find your chapter engaging. Elements such as Sarah's pregnancy and the budding romance between the two lead characters remind us that the world continues to move in spite of danger around us. I like the easy banter between the two love-birds. It sounds completely natural. That they have to be concerned about other people seeing their displays of affection add an urgency and romance to their pairing. I am eager to see whether their romance comes to fruition. I even like the dog.

Looks like things are about to get even more serious and possibly dangerous and there isn't much time to prepare. At least they are taking time out for lunch, which would probably be my first thought. LOL.
Thanks for sharing.

The testing of a lot of relationships are forged in the crucible of tension and trouble, it seems that the relationship between Noah and Sami, it the midst of a mystery, they are developing and cementing their relationship, well done, blessings Roy

Welcome Barbara
Comment from Debbie D'Arcy
Drama is really building now with sightings of these illegal migrants and I like the detail of instruction given to conceal their presence there. Also the contrast between the earlier relaxed dialogue between Noah and Sami and the more tense and pragmatic discussion later in the chapter. Great job, Barbara! Debbie
Noah, if there are a(t) least a dozen men...

Thank you for the catch. I have added that missing 't'. I appreciate the help.

Another possible bit of trouble to jazz stuff up. It seems strange though that a safe house would be placed in a well known hot spot for border crossings. Who would add the additional problems to a already dicey problems. Karen

It has calmed down some because of the fence our governor built. He didn't do it earlier because Biden's government outlawed it. It's been through the court system. Yes, it was extremely horrible. It was not safe.
