She's better off without him, but only time will teach her that. If he betrayed her with a note, not caring is her first step in healing --

Sad little fifty-word flash that reminds us not all that glitters is gold...
Some is "fool's" gold.

Great photo for your story, as well.

I often wonder how many poor souls have been destroyed by betrayal, or in fact have been shaped by that betrayal, I think I have by a source I once depended on, but it shaped me, it made me stronger by allowing it to shape me, not destroy me, beautifully written Carol. Blessings Roy

I realize that feelings can change and you might feel differently about someone, but at least talk to them, don't be a coward and send a letter. I can't imagine anything more despicable. thanks for the review, Roy!

Hi Carol. Nice short story. I like your description of passionate kisses in the moonlight. It would be nice if love stayed that way. Well written. Great job.

I was fortunate to have shared moments like that until I husband passed. Now I couldn't even imagine being the same way with anyone else...besides I am too old to bother. I just write and wait until we meet again.

You may have had fun writing it, but I'm sure she did not feel fun at that time. I am sure most women would be very devastated if they really thought the man cared and loved them to be so cruelly Left at the altar

I so agree. Another FS writer said that something like this had happened to someone else. I thought it was devastating. What a coward to send a letter and not tell her to her face. I hope katma bites back!

Distinguishing from fraud or real can sometimes be a difficult task. An evil heart's true intentions and feelings hidden deep within, as a gifted liar and accomplished wordsmith weaves deceit. Thanks for sharing.

Aren't yo weaving a good story within your reviews. Testing my brain power, making sure they aren't totally short circuited. LOL Making me smile and that's what counts.

Thanks so much, Teri. I might write a few of these to get out of the heavy dark stuff I've been writing. Easy simple writes and fun. Quick reads for everyone too.

I'm glad you had fun writing this because I had fun reading it. My mind wondered who how many times this must happen in the world. I would love to believe it doesn't, but that's fantasy. Thank you for sharing this with us.

thanks, Barbara. Helen told me it has actually happened to a young person on FS. I can't imagine someone being so heartless and cowardly to send a letter to someone they once professed to love. I know life changes but still.... the world spins on a dime!

I loved this fifty word flash, Carol. They aren't easy to write and you did great. Too bad there wasn't a contest to put it in. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.

Thanks Marilyn... I can't imagine someone who has professed to love someone forever and sends a DEar GirlFried letter. What a coward! And I would hope karma would come back to bite him.

That's happened to one of our sweet writers here. He didn't even bother to write a letter! I think those types of womanizers should have all their devastated lovers take some kind of revenge on them....But that's another kind of story! You told it well in 50 words.

I know that even those who meant it when they said their love was forever can have a change of heart, but have the courage to talk with the person and try to explain. A "Dear Girlfriend" letter is beyond cruel. thanks for reading.
