Can I borrow a ghost to tidy up my apartment? Now that's the way to be surprised by a dilapidated exterior!

I think, maybe....Alyssa? Allie? Oh, geez! Garth was enamored with Rebecca.

That's a great plot twist!

Poor Matthew-- they need to find him fast!

I might have seen one edit:

"Not a first, but as our journey progressed,"

(at?)

Big deal huh?

LOL-- Nobody pays me big bucks for proofreading for a reason!

I'm behind (again)--

No worries!

It's great, and I will catch up!

Good catch! i almost didn't find it to correct but it is done. Heck, if I hurry a little faster I just might get started on another chapter....I've got to get my self in gear.

Everything's coming to a head and the pieces are fitting together!

Some edits:

No one questioned his story; no one asked me why I would kill the man I'd just married."
(Quote mark missing before No.)

"Can't you imagine snuggled up with a warm blanket on a cold night, warming your toes in front of the fire, Rebecca?"
(...imagine being snuggled up...or...imagine snuggling up)

there's a body inside. They haven't identified yet."
(....identified *it* yet.)

Danni and Jenna screamed, both clinging to each other.
(Both is redundant with each other. ...screamed, clinging to each other.)

You got hanged right in this one!

Julie

I have to tell you that you are a better proofreader than my actual publisher. I had to tell them two or three times when they changed vices to voices and several others. Now, I just got my book, and on two pages, they have lines highlighted with (Author 1) behind them. Crazy!
Thanks for your help. It's fixed.

That's frustrating. I had to go through 4 proof copies before I finally got a good version. My problem was with the guy I paid to upload it kept messing up the formatting or font size etc.

Another dramatic and ghostly chapter. I love that Miriam has kept the house inside in tiptop condition and now the photo, another mystery for the ladies to solve.
You are weaving quite the intriguing story, Carol.
cheers,

This is an interesting chapter that just adds more questions to the story. We know the body isn't Matthew, but will everyone suspect he killed the man in his car as Doyle hopes? And what does Eleanor know about the woman in the picture?

    Excuse the cut and paste...
I'm traveling to North Carolina to spend some time with my Great Granddaughters (and enjoy Keyanna's national soccer tournament). It's like a whirlwind at the moment, but I do appreciate your time and especially your enjoyment of my story. Hope to get back to it soon. Thank you as always.

You have a brilliant way with drama, you're one of the few authors that can keep the interest flowing, although you ate an incurable romantic, you have that flair for the drama that life can throw up dear Carol, you deserve lots of sixes. But I can't give you them, because I only get a few, beautifully written, blessings Roy
Typo : Not a(t) first.

Wow, I just never know what you'll come up with next. But you're the queen of conflict as far as I'm concerned. Weaving the living with the dead. :-) Thanks for sharing.

You always know how to leave your chapters on a cliffhanger, Carol. I thought that was a real heart to heart conversation between Miriam and Eleanor and I could really feel their emotions coming through. I can't wait to read the next chapter.

Forgive me for my short thank you but I am so far behind and hope to clear the slate before I leave tomorrow morning. Between the book being published and packing and writing, I'm going crazy. Thank you as always, Smiles, Carol

Will your book be available on Amazon, Carol?
reply by the author on 15-Nov-2024
It is there right now, Jacob. I got notified at 6:57 AM and bought the first book at 7AM. I could have bought an author copy but I wanted the first one off the press. LOL

I saw your notification about this going online when I got home last night but it was too late to read.
It was worth the wait.
The inheritance makes sense now, as a living relative, and the only one, the earlier clause would come into effect despite the adoption.
Now they just need to find the secret room where she is hiding Matthew.

Another informative and action-packed chapter, Carol. The story of Trevor and Miriam is heartbreaking. But the not-so-abandoned mansion holds many surprises, I'm betting.

You're making great progress with your book. Will it be done at the end of the month for the contest?

This work has reached the exceptional level

I just got chills. Alyssa, Rebecca's twin is Allie, Garth's bride. That's why he was so drawn to Rebecca, and why she had the same mannerisms. Perfect!!! Well done. Now the next step is for Matthew to recover (but remain hidden!)

Hurrah! You figured it out! I hope I get a chance to continue writing but first I needed to at least acknowledge everyone. I can't believe so much is happening.
