Yes, it is puzzling to a child when things happen and they have to live through it.
You have the correct amount of syllables for each line. Your picture as well as the poem are nicely put together.

It's a photo of a young girl I met in Madagascar and although she hasn't seen war, her life is hard none the less.

Outstanding write and powerful food for thought. Thank you for sharing so that I could get a better understanding. So Funny, I posted my first one but I misunderstood, so their was only one stance. A Fanstory member comments and says "I like this, let me know when your finished". I was like, I thought I was lol. When I research and realized I misunderstood, I did in fact finish it but, wow, how funny. I posted it in a contest and everything unknowingly. Thank gosh for the people here on FS. Thanks again!

The children suffer the most - they don't understand and they shouldn't need to suffer from wars and from mankind's bigotry and hatred. You expressed it well and the poignant image was well chosen.
