Sorry this is so late. I really enjoyed this chapter. I can feel the romance running in a different direction. This goes from new love to forever love. I am so enjoying this story. Gretchen

Wow, I love how things are moving right along. It's hard to believe it has been only a month. Sami story is sweet. I can see why she is the way she is.

I can't wait for the next one. It's easy to read your story because they flow so well with great imagery.

Well done

Hello Barbara,
this was one of the more enjoyable chapters in my opinion. I'm kind of scared to see what's going to happen next, but hopefully it will be something good.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

Life has been tough for our ancestors, and usually we don't have to go very far back, at all, my parents grew up through the depression, so they were always struggling, my nana had to raise four girls through hard times without a husband, in a very working class city where the many Irish poor, settled in this city bound for other places, but stopped in Liverpool, my home town. Beautifully written Barbara, blessings Roy

My parents grew up during the depression too. It was hard on both of them. Thank you for the kind review.

Nice chapter, Barb. I'm a little worried what might happen in Noah's absence. I guess in the next chapter, I will find out. Marc will probably show up again sometime.

A month doesn't seem very long for everlasting love to develop, but those things happen. I liked the story of the sapphire ring and Sami's grandparents. Noah wonders if he's up to maintaining the standards Sami's family did, as he grew up under different circumstances. Sami wants to jump in and do everything, but I like Noah's insistence that they're going to have a real date, meaning going to a restaurant, maybe a play. Things have been going at a leisurely pace, but I feel there will be another disruption coming. judi

You're welcome. I figured something was in the works, partly because Noah was acting a bit mysterious about what he was going to do. judi

I guess it will be hard to be away from Noah since she had that intense time with him 24/7 in the safe house. I like how you are showing how both have grown and learned from each other.
One question about this conversation:
"You did what you had to do to protect me, knowing I'd probably hate you."
"You did. I'm grateful you understood and forgave me."

It sounds odd to answer with another "You did" here. What did Noah mean?

Sami did hate Noah for a while. I'll remove the second You did. Thank you for the kind review.

Something she probably did not think of is that if Noah had stayed things may have gotten out of hand and they may have gone too far too soon. Noah is level headed and he appears to be moving at a safe speed so that their relationship proceeds at just the right speed. He is a good and wise man.

This chapter is really centered around the heart to heart talk between Sami and Noah, where the readers get this background into her family, and how that has become such a foundation on which her life and character is built. It seems a bit intimidating to Noah, who wonders to her if he can live up to her expectations of family life with him, but she seems convinced that his character and heart will carry him through. estory
