What you wrote is very true, Yvette. When feeling lonely and blue what memory stirs hopefully is a happy one. :) Yet, most times it just cuts even deeper. That's when a sip or three makes me happy. :) Thanks for sharing.

Always so good to hear from you, Jose, and thanx much for the review here... I see that you feel where I was coming from... Been away with the hustle of the holidays -- had a little time this morning, but now it's back to the 'busy-ness' (and work!)!! Take care and Merry Christmas!! ;) Yvette

This 2-4-2, Tattered Vision, has the proper formatting and reminds the readers that time is an investment that pays us back through memories and recollections for life.

The image seems perfect for the words you've written, as so many of the colorful lights of Christmas look sharp enough to cut. And these shards contain memories that travel back to us through time.
A lovely thought for this contest. Good luck.

You've used the imagery of shards piercing emotions very well in this poem. My only comment is that I like to read a poem aloud before I comment and that was difficult as I automatically pronounced memories with 3 syllables, which then ruins your syllable count for that line (it makes it 5). But that aside you've managed to convey a lot in very few words

Memories do have their existence, accompanying us throughout life. A good, bad and ugly presentation of sides: or veils. I found it to be a profound shout. All in my stated viewpoint.

This is beautiful, very carefully chosen words to express such a lovely message. And I also see where you are coming from with ignoring the dark shards, avoid the negativity at all costs lol!
Good luck with the contest it will be a great runner!

Well, if this is what crazy is I want in, yes, memories do take us back in time, and hopefully for the best, but not always unfortunately, a beautifully written and presented 2-4-2 poem, best wishes for your contest****kahpot

This concise verse brings up something that would be doctrinal, so to speak, with a reference "time's veil." Those glimmers of brilliance, even in 'bright shards,' must pull on many if not all of us at different times of life, so that we start to remember something better, even if it is just in this earthly set of experiences.

I find the sad memories come through when my arthritis is giving me hell, it's like they kick me when I'm down, but you, crazy blonde poet, have said it creatively in your 2-4-2 poem. Loved both the verse and the notes, LOL.
cheers
