These questions you ask are ones to make us remember we are all born naked and we all deserve love and compassion no matter what our path in life is. Thought provoking Roy, beautifully written.

That is a question I think we all ask before we have a relationship with the Lord. I remember when my sister had asked me to say a prayer to become a Christian and I didn't think I was good enough. I was thankful to learn about exactly what you wrote about. God loves us all no matter who we are, what background we come from or what nationality we are.
Good read and thought provoking to me have not made that decision yet
Hope you're enjoying your week.

Your poem articulates a challenge to us in our faith; to step outside of our personal tastes, philosophical leanings, and judgements and into the pure, comprehensive love of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ who died for everybody, even the ones who crucified him. estory

This is a very beautiful poem! Your example of what unconditional love is through religious aspects is perfect. May God bless you and all of your work.

l love the repetition of the question at the end of each stanza. It drives home, gently, the meaning of unconditional love. Yes, it is a challenge sometimes for us to love others, but God sees each of us of worthy of His love. Thanks for the reminder. Blessings. Carol

I liked how you put this and when reading your notes, it only helped make the poem more valuable. Sometimes grace, gift, etc.. are hard to fully understand or accept. I appreciate the way you broached unconditional love with a leading question.

I knew this was yours when I first started reading it:) I try not to look at the poet's name until after I read. Having said that, I loved this train of thought...so worthy and important a question.
No lie...A small poem started in my head two days ago...

Do you ever wonder how
a homeless soul gets through the day?
If you asked what would they say
and would you try to help somehow?
Because of that, your poem takes on an added measure of "special." I love your heart and how it beats for God, for good, for what's right. Love trumps all and makes a world of difference in our world.

I think we all wonder sometimes if we are lovable. We sometimes undervalue ourselves and put other flawed people on pedestals. I think God sees our souls not our packaging. This was beautiful, Roy. Gretchen

Hi Roy, I enjoyed reading this poem. I like how you uses the words: could you love me in each quatern. The poem is so heartfelt. The picture is a good choice for your poem.
