Damn, Dana's tenacious. I love it! The pot is beginning to boil, Jim. This is another incredible Chapter, my friend. I feel like Leonard Merra is lying, lol. I can't wait to see what's next. On my way to the next Chapter now.
God bless,
Steve

Dana seems to be taking this FBI thing a bit too serious with her suggestion of violence. Unfortunately I could easily imagine big business using these sort of tactics. A good read, Jim.

Thanks, valda. Absolutely right. This plan could easily backfire, and Fran will probably not look too favorably on it.

I can actually understand why big pharma, might do virtually anything to stay afloat, pretty well like tobacco companies have lied in the past about the effects of nicotine and tar on the human body, gun companies, no matter how many deaths occur, it just goes to show how difficult it is to squash them, people will listen to lies if it suits them. Beautifully written Jim, Blessings Roy

Thanks, Roy. You've listed some good examples of industries similar to Big Pharma in their attitudes and tactics to suppress their competitors. It's a shame companies resort to such practices just to advance their own products, and we always hope they are caught in the end. Usually it's after a trail of destruction, though.

Hello Jim,
in her zealousness, Dana may have stepped over the line. It's bad enough that the drug is getting the kind of lousy press that might be hard to overcome. It's going to be interesting to see how all this pans out. Well done Jim.
Blessings,
Tom

Thanks, Tom. Yes, Dana is definitely a woman of action and wanted to liven things up. Fran is a little more cautious. Let's see if this causes some friction between the two.

I hope Dana hasn't gone too far. If things get hot for him he will immediately throw blame onto Dana (especially if she refuses his advances). The plot is complex and those articles were quite nasty about Brian so I hope he will come out the other side okay.
Great chapter.

Exactly right. You've noticed how he's trying to keep himself from any blame if things fall through. It will be tough to counteract that article, because often the first shot is the most deadly. He'll do his best, though.

I sure hope Dana isn't pushing too far into the gray area of harassment. She doesn't want to destroy Brian's competence completely. Repo agents can do a really good job just barely in the legal region.

Hard to see exactly what Dana has in mind at this point, but it will soon become clear. As to how well it will work and what Fran will think, are big questions.

Jim,

This story is proceeding in the right direction just the way Dana wants it too. Merrik is a slime ball, but doesn't want his name attached to the illegal side of things. He's smart that way.

Well done my friend and keep writing.

Cecilia

I certainly will, Cecilia. We're not quite half way through the story yet, so there's a lot more to come. I'm almost finished writing it, and I know how it's going to end now.

Dana was told to not try to be a hero. I know she wants FBI involvement, but if there were an investigation, Merra would immediately report that Dana made the first suggestion to threaten Brian. He would even say Dana provided the person to suggest the type of threat. Dana has gone overboard. The plot thickens.

She may well have gone overboard. We'll see how this will play out soon and what Fran has to say about it too.

I was involved in a fatal car accident in France 10 years ago in which the other party who died was entirely at fault, having probably lost consciousness whilst driving at speed on a country lane, crossing over to our side of the road and slamming into us. Some bright spark amateur reporter wrote up about it (when evidence was there for all to see), blaming British drivers for inadvertently driving on the wrong side of the road and then claiming that we had walked free when we had to be cut out of the car and my back was broken! No verification was ever sought and the article was out there for all to see. Your article reminded me of how much misinformation can be spread so flagrantly (albeit intentionally) and get away with it. Meanwhile Dana is, maybe, getting a bit carried away with her role in an attempt to be convincing. This is going to be interesting and, potentially, risky unless she's reined in a bit.
"Nobody knows what long term effects changes in the brain will have."
-I just needed to pull this sentence out because it didn't read well first off. Now I get though. But maybe a little smoother: "Nobody knows whether long term changes in the brain will occur."
Finally, I found myself a little irritated with Dana, because she deliberately dressed and behaved provocatively (I know she did it for a purpose) and then complained that he was a creep.
This is another impressive chapter, Jim, well worthy of a six which, sadly, I don't have. Warm wishes Debbie

I'm so sorry that accident happened to you, Debbie. That was a great example of how distorted the press can be and how poor a job many of them do in getting the facts right. Often they'll print whatever they think will sell or whatever supports their agenda, regardless of the truth.

I like your suggestion to simplify the wording of that confusing passage.

I agree that Dana can be irritating, and you're right about her complaints about Merra when she purposely tried to provoke him. She's a piece of work alright.

This was an awesome review, Debbie, and thanks for your virtual 6.

You certainly cover all the bases in every chapter, giving a few stats, professional conversations, and adding enough slang (peaks) to let the readers know you're hip to all walks of life. I'm sure you have or will get tired of me saying I wish a had a six. But it's impossible to reward multiple weekly posts with what's deserved. And it probably disappoints me as much or more than you. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much, Ric. No worries about the 6s. I value your comments more than the stars, and I fully understand about running out because this often happens to me too.
