This is another excellent chapter. Could you remind me what drug is harmful and what drug is helpful? This is an interesting story. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Thanks very much, Lee. The original drug that became harmful at a high dose is Dipraxa. The helpful drug is Glyptophan.

Thanks

I suspect Fran is right to get the wire-tap set up. When Dana's "tough" friend doesn't do anything, her boss may hire someone else. There is a lot of pressure among the big companies to get their product on top. Her boss is really frightened with only one product left on the market.

Exactly right, Carol. When Merra sees he isn't getting any results and Brian continues with his trials, he's likely to find someone else to do something more serious. Thanks for this perceptive review.

Wow, things are moving fast. Hope they can stop Merra. How will they bug his phone? Anyway, I agree with you that big companies do have that mentality. Decades ago when I worked for an oil company, my boss told me that if anyone invented the ability to run cars on water, that he/she would be killed.
Great continuation of your book!

Hi, Helen. Great to have you back. I hope you enjoyed your month off. We're about 55% of the way through the story now, and the pace picks up quite a bit in the second half.
With the coming of AI, I wonder if a lot of companies will be worried about staying in business and will try to fight it.
Thanks for your kind words and for sharing that story with me.

I'm glad they got the wiretap. I do hope things work out in a positive way, but I am also afraid. I want a happy ending. I am still worried about Dana. She is a loose cannon. This is another good write.

Thanks, Barbara. Dana kind of lucked out here and got away with it. Let's see if she keeps pushing her luck or if she begins listening to Fran.

It seems to me that drug companies are the same as tobacco companies in the past, and even the gun lobby, the way they work, I wonder what they will say, confronted by God, he despises the way businesses will cheat on food and other weights on scales, that's a terrible thing too. Well done, blessings Roy

Thanks, Roy. You're right; they all have some undesirable traits in common. A certain amount of lying and cheating seems like par for the course for many of them.

That's right
Comment from Debbie D'Arcy
All the ducks seem to be getting in a row. Fran has managed to get the wire tap relatively easily and Brian has been warned to be prepared should there be any threat of violence from Big Pharma. As ever, Jim, the story has great momentum and the dialogue, particularly with the judge, is very convincing. I like that we have a potential element of danger. All nicely done! Thank you for sharing, Jim. Take care Debbie

Thanks, Debbie. It's lucky she had a lenient judge, or she may not have gotten that warrant. You'll find danger present in much of the rest of the story from now on. There will be a little more excitement in the second half than the first.

Brian needs to listen to his sister and brush up on his aim. It's better to stay ready. Big Pharma is looking for big dollars, I believe. They profit of people staying sick. Look how much money was made off of COVID-19. Also, paying the hospitals if a patient dies from COVID-19. That's crazy.
You have an exceptional way of telling this story, keeping your readers on the edge and pining for the next chapter. I can't wait to see what's next.
God bless,
Steve

Thanks very much, Steve, for this great review and those 6 stars. We're just a little past the halfway point in the story, so lots of action yet to come. The pace will begin picking up soon. So glad you're enjoying it.

I've enjoyed the pace so far, Jim. You've kept my attention throughout. I've certainly enjoyed this book.
It's a pleasure, reading your craft.

Jim,
What a great chapter. I am glad they got the wire tap. Now let's hope they get something from it. I got a feeling they will. Great addition to your book.
Well done my friend.

Thanks very much, Cecilia. Fran was lucky to have gotten that warrant, so let's hope it pays off and it ends up being worth it in the end.

You're welcome. Keep writing
Comment from Wayne Fowler
Very well written. Good work.
I don't know why Fran would be surprised at Brian's question about potential violence. It seems like a normal inquiry.
Best wishes.

Thanks very much, Wayne. I think it was probably more the phrasing of his question--"What are the chances?"--that surprised her because I'm not sure at this point how much she'd thought about what the chances really were. 50-50? 70-30? She didn't quite know how to answer it.
Comment from Pam Lonsdale
Now I know how a warrant is issued; I guess I was only vaguely aware that the law enforcer had to appear before a judge and present a case.
Fran warns Brian of the threat against his life, tells him to practice shooting his gun, then wishes him a happy new year, lol! I actually find that quite true to life.
See you in a few days, Jim.

Your second comment cracked me up, Pam. Does seem rather incongruous! Sort of reminds me of that joke: Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?
