I like country music, or I did before it became citified courtesy of some of the girl singers like Shania Twain. I tired of the Dixie Chicks because they brough politics into their performances. I think "He Stopped Loving her Today" must have been the all-time great crying song. One of my relatives writes country music and records and sings at clubs on the weekends. Great rhyme in yours, and you capture the mood. I'd try for single spacing, especially as it's a longer one. judi

This is a great poem about emotion that country music brings. I grew up with a mom who LOVED country music so I've always heard it and have appreciated it. When I was young I went to two country music festivals with her and saw some of the best stars of the time.

This is definitely a fun poem. I can tell you're enjoying yourself. By the last stanza, you're clearly having fun with the rhymes. I actually prefer the same music as you but never thought to write a poem about it!

I think there is a time and place for all types of music. Yes most country music are sad love songs. But some are good to listen to so you know you are not alone in your feelings.

Well, i can appreciate the sentiment. I think Country music has come a long way in recent years but it did used to be a running joke about divorce, separation, truck getting stolen and then the dog dies!
