Hi deepwater,
You have expressed well a woman's life after she discovers the reality of being married to a rancher. Good rhyme and rhythm with a clear understanding. Thank you for sharing.

A very good poem with the reminder that life usually doesn't go according to plan. Everyone has hilights and pitfalls, somehow you have to balance both. Nicely written. I enjoyed reading this.

This is one of those poems that gives me chills to read - in a good way! I was a little unnerved with the omission of punctuation, however. Kind of makes everything run together and I had to read much of it over again. But overall it is a good read. Thanks for sharing!

This is a fine piece of writing, and if this is a cowgirl's life, I need to buy a horse and new attire! You did a great job with this well-worded piece.

There have been many changes during our lifetimes ... some good ... some not so good. I miss the cowgirls of old, but I like the new ones!

You know, I admire such women as they willing accept their lot and these days are rare. I enjoyed this well written poem, the story and sentiments as well.

Gary, this is a fine description of a cowboy's wife. The drastic change that she now has to endure, after being promised quite differently, but I guess that is life.
Well written and expressed. Rhyme and flow made this poem enjoyable to read.

This is a lovely post depicting sadness, and lonliness of a cowgirls life. Changes preclude what was once her dreams, and time has given up a place of enduring in its stead. Good work.

I love the reference to the Walmart store. This is good and the part "Her man's away for weeks on end and leaves her to the chores" really plays to the Chapter title and to the last line. Good work.

I like the way you relate to the life of a cowgirl-wife of cowboy. There are many occupations that take a husband away from home for long periods of time and it isn't easy to be father and mother to the kids while they are away can vouch for this. You have conveyed this role very well in your poem. Those cowgirls will love you for it.
