I had to come read something else of yours before I logged off. I've missed your generous heart, something that always set your work apart. This is a stunning write, Jan.
Always the reviewer, I found one nit:
A decade passed(,) and still you tried to re-connect.

A very moving story of your life. How strange the twists of life can be. What hard blows they can deal.
This is filled with such a range of emotion - from love to hate, until finally realization and need for forgiveness.
A very emotional read.

An interesting little piece. I don't know that you can be friends when trust is gone. I happens too often when the girlfriend code is broken. Great job.

Well written story of life, love, and the inability, ability to forget and forgive. Your words create sad but vivid imagery. Your inability to forgive your friend was not difficult to understand. Her betrayal was a hard thing to forgive. Her illness has made you contemplate which quite often is necessary for one to forgive.

Janilou, this is such a powerful write. Far too many times our own pain totally blocks all else, especially when we feel betrayed. I'm glad that now you have the opportunity to provide support and love to your friend, almost sister, in her time of need. Many blessings to you and her, my friend.

This an excellent essay about your situation and the words expressed your powerful emotions.
I know cancer is scary and hard time for everyone. I am still wondering how you are willingly to be friends again. I understand about letting go of all hurt because I have done in my life when others hurt me deeply.
i hope she will beat the cancer and recovered.

Although a painful account of betrayal and lost friendship. There is still time for forgiveness and a renewal of the love you shared. Thank you of sharing, such a personal story.

I would give you sixs if
I had them...this definitely
deserves them. This wrought
with hurt, healing, hope and
pain but tells the lesson of
love and forgiveness. You did
an excellent job with this, there
is nothing to change. God bless
and keep you. Lora

Thank you, Lora. I appreciate your kind words, and knowing you thought it worthy of six stars is good enough for me.

I agree with your ealry sentiments but I don't think regardless of illness that I'd ever ask for forgiveness for her betrayal.
Perhaps there is a middle ground; taking the time to find out why, but not much more.
Well written.

Look for her on HSN Her name is Helen Galley. Why is a question that never gets a satisfactory answer.
