Wow! It sounds like quite a challenge! I will be following and taking notes LOL, I hardly ever take on anything more mind-bending than free verse. This sounds fascinating.

Thank you :-). Crowns are certainly monsters, but they call to me. Every now and then I just have to take a stab at writing another. I wanted to draw them al together because they really lay out my development in writing within form.

Thank you for this introduction. The lightening is really beginning to strike... seriously so must shut off now.
I will read the entire set. Thank you for posting them all.

It just felt right to put all these together. The first one, especially, was buried so deep in my portfolio I started to think I'd imagined it!

Thank you, Barbara :-). Sadly I can't afford to promote the earlier pieces, but if you do read through them, I hope you enjoy the experience.

How exciting!
I love Sonnets, but I am fairly new to poetry and have not heard of a crown.
Your prologue is interesting and gives good detail of what is to come.
I look forward to reading them.

Thank you, Maxine. I knew I was about to unleash my new piece, so I thought it made sense to draw out my previous attempts at the form.

Good for you, for putting all of your crowns of sonnets together in one book. You are truly an expert at writing sonnets; maybe you should be dubbed the King of Crowns of Sonnets, at least on FS.

I like the idea of watching your skill progression, Mike. This should be a fascinating collection. I've probably read most of the sonnets already, but it will be interesting to read them again as a collection and to notice the differences. Brooke

Thank you, Brooke :-). I decided to do this after reading them all through myself. I enjoy writing these hugely extended pieces - it appeals to my verbosity!

I look forward to reading these - it must be great to look back and see how your own skill has developed - rather like any craftsman I imagine...

Thanks, Steve. I've just posted the new one with huge amounts of promotion (necessary, I find, when the poem is as long as these!) outside the book, so it should be at the top of front page soon. I'll add it into the book shortly.
