Part of me wants to back hand Anna and tell her to get a grip. To stop beating herself up as badly as Bobby did. Another part of me understands all to well how an abuser can have you doubt your very worth. I'm very mixed about Anna, but still pulling for her.

Thank you for the kind review and I am glad you are back. I am sorry you had to read this when it's not promoted.

Liked these lines: I've lost count how many times Mom had to bring me to the ER. We were on a first name basis with the nurses and doctors. Notice they weren't overly concerned." Troy smiled. :)
Poor Anna constantly demeans herself. I hope Troy will bring her self-confidence.
Excellent!

I am happy you made it so it was Troy instead of Michael that got bitten
Troy bravely saved Michael from being hurt
He will go up in Anna's estimation now so it all worked out well
I love dogs too but they should be under control then things like this will not happen
have a Merry Christmas and wonderful New Year!

This is a very interesting chapter, though I would call a dog bite that required 12 stitches more than an 'accident'. I'm a dog lover, too, but that's a bit extreme?
This was well-written and I enjoyed the read.
"I'm sorry you were bit." -> were bitten?

You are probably correct about that. I was bit when I was younger, and still have the scar on my cheek. It was an accident. The dog was sleeping and I came around the corner and scared it. Thank you for the kind review.

You are so right; accidents happen. I had a lab who would walk up to kids and steal food when the chance came up. Thankfully it was my kids. Merry Christmas and blessings!

Barbara, a very tense chapter, from the dog biting Troy to Anna fearing her child would be taken from her. Glad you like dogs; so do I, but it is the masters who do not control them who are at fault. And of course, unattended children are always at risk, even for a few minutes, and Anna knows this.
Slowly they are coming together...
Nice.

The unattended child is where Anna's problems lies. The dog owner did not have control of his dog. Thank you for the kind review.

Dropping by to check your continued work. You are prolific and good. This chapter like others, is clear, sharp, with crisp dialogue that connects with the reader. Stan

Enjoyed the chapter. Just one minor correction..
The sentence ""Ms. Rodgers is a single parent. She couldn't leave the child inside while she cleaned up the mess, so did the best she could."
so should be she. Otherwise I believe it is a great story.

I am a dog lover too. My beagle is my best friend. She has been with me through so much, and is such a source of comfort and companionship. Great chapter. I can just see Anna's mind working, especially when the police came!!! Debbie
