This poem is wonderful, I love the history shown. The title is great, I had to read it. Descriptions were very detailed and only needed a few words to do it in. I like how you were able to incorporate the "black men still watch from desert sand" in the first and last stanzas.

An excellent poem that teaches so much. The images that evokes are strong, particularly those of "black men watched from desert sand." I can visualize them watching with curiosity and dismay the white intruders of their "sacred land".

Loved this in every way, and especially the end rhymes because I didn't even realise they were there until the second reading. This reads *great* aloud. Really enjoyed the change of tempo in the third verse, and that whole verse itself. The symbolisms thru invasion by foreigners, on foreign camels, was excellent. Beautifully put together piece, Kay. It says a lot about the 'advancement' of mankind, that's for sure. Well stated. Cheers. Alyx.
