This is super cute and you have to wonder when goes through a child's mind as they are learning who God is and certain prayers. Great job with this

Haha! I have to remember that the next time one of my kids ask me why. That was a good one. :) As for the contest entry, this was a charming piece, told from the viewpoint of a cute kid. :)

And, it's also the letter right before Z. Thanks for reading.

LOVED this! So so believable thoughts- prayers really- from a seven year old! The innocence in his every word is exactly what Jesus said we adults must strive for! So heart warming!

Well thank you very much. I don't think I trespassed or offended anyone here. Peter still believes in God.

Personally I don't worry if my views offend anyone- I'm still sharing them! I have to answer to my God at the end of the day! I read views I don't agree with, but just that fact alone will never cloud my judgment of the quality of a piece of writing. Open mindedness is essential in reviewing, I believe!

You are, unfortunately an exception, but it generally mirrors my own views.

I think closed minds keep people from truly learning! I also believe that exposing myself to other views helps me to sharpen my understanding of exactly what I do believe!

I'm laughing. This was a funny post.

Do you think Grandma's gone cookoo? - cuckoo

She got a little cookoo - ditto.

Is your real name Art? The poem starts with 'our father, who art in heaven.' - LOL! Excellent.

You know, like trying to hide cauliflower in with mashed potatoes(?).

Do you think it would be okay if I changed the ending to Aboy? - HAHAHA!

Still laughing.

:D

I pray to Art that you do well in the contest.

And I pray to Harold, as in Harold, is thy name, that I always laugh as much at my meanderings into a character's mindset as I do at some reviewers comments. Thank you very much.

From the mouths of babes. What a refreshing little poem, told from a child's view of the world. They are so innocent and inquisitive. You brought this out in this little boy. Well done.

Thank you. As a mother of a grown son, and grandmother of one, who reminds me all the time about how it was and how it is, thank you.

Oh this is really cute in every way and I can just picture such a thing happening. Children have such honest hearts. Great job. God loves you and I do too.

This is a delight, and best of luck in the contest. Grandma sounds like a wonderful person, and I enjoyed the response to the child's question Why? when she wouldn't let him have the toys. She said Y is the letter right after X. The language and thinking sound typical for a seven year old. Great take on the Lord's Prayer. Wondering if God's first name is Art and asking for Wonder Bread instead of brown bread that Grandma gives him. Great story. judi

Very well written, cute and humorous little story. I love the innocent irreverence as the little boy talks to "Art". Great job and luck with the contest.

Thanks so much. I actually was going to expand this if I had a more generous word allowance. We would have questioned whether his real name was Art or Harold (as in-Harold is my name) but 500 words filters through the keystrokes too quickly when you begin to write a story you like yourself.

This does sound like a child trying to say the Our Father. the line about cauliflower, should say... trying to mix mashed caul.. I think. Otherwise it is good. Miss Sally
