Thanks, Lovi. Have been absent for a while. My mother passed on the 18th. But she had been comatose for over five years and even though it was a blessing, there is a hole t fill.

I'm so sorry to hear. My deepest sympathies. I do understand, even in a coma, she was still 'here/there' and I can only imagine how it must feel. I thought I would lose my mother earlier this year, then we have had a reprieve. She is declining, perhaps we will have a few more months with her ..... one never knows.

I see the relevance of your write now ... either expressing you grief or relating to your mother ... is your dad still alive?. I did get the deep emotion you conveyed ... it makes your ten words that much more special. Such a creative way to express your grief.

Still so raw, it will take some time. It must have taken quite a toll on you while she was in the coma ... such a long time .... at least a little kinder for her than suffering pain. I really, REALLY like this wording of a short short, but I wanted to point out it is "Memento" and not "momento" unless you mean "moment" in Spanish. Awesome contest entry.

I don't know if I completely understand this story. It does have kind of a melancholic feel to it. It is very poetic. Love does sometimes have to just be a smile that can be remembered.
